Lafayette (13-9) vs. Paul Dunbar (14-5)    February 8, 2001

Lafayette coach Don Adkins started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Robert Madison, 6-0 Sr. Jeff Floyd, 6-6 Sr. Dudley Hall, 5-9 Sr. James Gentry, and 6-0 Sr. Quinton Roberts.  Paul Dunbar coach Eddie Oakley countered with 6-0 So. Mike Matthews, 6-2 Jr. Allen Penn, 6-6 Jr. Kenneth Fox, 6-0 So. Marcus Conner, and 5-9 So. Jamie Adams.

Evidently Coach Eddie Oakley was not happy with his team's play as he benched three senior starters, 6-3 Clay Tate, 6-3 David Byars, and 6-4 Rod Lyvers for the start of the game.  They finally entered the game late in the first quarter.  Lafayette held a 24-20 lead in the second quarter until Dunbar closed out the quarter with a 14-0 run to take a 34-24 halftime advantage.  Dunbar went on to win by a score of 62-48.  Dunbar controlled the boards tonight and outrebounded Lafayette 36-14.

Dunbar had a balanced scoring attack with five players reaching double figures.  Kenneth Fox and David Byars led the way with 12 points each.  Marcus Conner, Jamie Adams, and Rod Lyvers added 10 points each.  Fox also pulled down 10 rebounds.  Lyvers was very active on the perimeter on defense tonight and also managed to nail three crowd-pleasing dunks.  Lafayette was led tonight by Robert Madison and Dudley Hall with 15 and 12 points respectively.
