Lexington Catholic (21-2) at Scott County (21-3)

Lexington Catholic coach Danny Haney started the following lineup:  6-3 So. Demetrius Green, 6-4 Sr. Ryan Morton, 6-5 Sr. John Rompf, 6-3 So. William Graham, and 5-11 Jr. Brian Smith.   Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-3 Jr. Jeremy Nettles, 6-0 Sr. Marcus Reed, 6-4 Sr. Coy Zerhusen, 5-10 Sr. "C-3" Brown, and 6-1 So. Tyler Hicks.

It appears that every time Lexington Catholic and Scott County play it is a classic and tonight’s game was no exception.  Lexington Catholic held on tonight to claim a 73-70 victory.  Catholic took a 41-39 lead at the intermission due to a 21 point performance by Demetrius Green.  Scott County’s downfall in the first half was free throw shooting as they only connected on 14 of 30 attempts.   Scott County was kept in the game in the first half by Tyler Hicks who tallied 20 points.

Catholic managed to hold on at the end to claim the win.  They were led by Demetrius Green with 28 points.  6-3 So. Harrison Morton came off the bench to add 20 points and pull down 16 rebounds.  5-10 So. Drew Morton came off the bench to give Coach Haney some productive minutes, especially on defense.  Scott County was led tonight by Tyler Hicks and "C-3" Brown with 25 and 20 points respectively.  Coy Zerhusen added 12 points and pulled down 17 rebounds.  This was another typical Lexington Catholic-Scott County war before a packed house in an atmosphere worthy of a tourney championship.  Both teams played hard but Scott County’s inability to hit free throws (17 of 39) was too much to overcome.
