Henry Clay (3-0) at Lafayette (4-0) 

Henry Clay coach Scott Cromwell started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Abby Currens, 6-0 Sr. Mary Tobin, 5-7 Sr. Jessie Birdwhistell, Sr. Stephanie Mehr, and 5-4 Sr. Johnna Lewis-Carlisle.  Lafayette coach Allison Tate Denton countered with 5-9 Sr. Lauren Coats, 5-9 Jr. Lucy Clark, 6-1 Jr. Lori Colson, 5-6 So. Katie Kelly, and 5-8 So. Suzie Owens.

Henry Clay defeated Lafayette 58-49 to hand the Lady Generals their first loss of the young season.  Tonight was a game of runs as Henry Clay would surge ahead and Lafayette would rally.  Lafayette led 12-11 at the end of the first quarter.  Henry Clay went on a 10-0 run late in the second quarter and took a 30-21 lead at halftime.  Henry Clay maintained a 40-34 advantage at the end of three quarters.  Lafayette closed the deficit to four, 45-41 in the final period but could never catch up as Henry Clay gained the victory.

Henry Clay was led tonight by Johnna Lewis-Carlisle and Mary Tobin with 19 and 17 points respectively.  5-11 Jr. Virginia Northcutt added six points on two key three-pointers in the third quarter when Lafayette was mounting a comeback.  Lafayette was led tonight by Suzie Owens and Lori Colson with 14 and 13 points respectively.  6-0 Sr. Catherine Strobel came off the bench to add six points and pull down nine rebounds.
