Conclusion

This was an excellent day of basketball with some good individual performances.  Quinn Mortenson had a good game for Williamstown and Zack Mefford continues to impress.  Mefford has the ability to contribute and score even when his shot is not falling.  Mefford hustles, works hard, and is always striving to improve his game.  Paris, as usual, has a nice complement of athletes and Coach Barr does an excellent job.  Kevin Reed and Frank Middleton played well for Evarts and almost shot them back in the game in the final period.  6-3 220 pound So. Chris Williams played well for Woodford County, scoring both inside and out.   Clark County has an excellent inside-outside combination in Jared Strode and Matthew Martin.  East Jessamine has some nice players but faced an uphill battle after the first quarter.

Bourbon County has some nice perimeter talent and a promising young big man in 6-8 So. Russell Allen.  Powell County got a good performance from Jared Baker and some outstanding long-range bombing from soph guard Chris Stamper in the final quarter.  The Lexington Catholic versus Scott County matchup was the featured game of the day and it lined up to its sizeable expectations.  The stars lived up to their reputations and Lexington Catholic’s Demetrius Green threw down one of the highlight dunks of the season.  Scott County’s Tyler Hicks had an outstanding effort in a losing cause.  He was pressured the entire game but responded with a big game.
