The teams advancing to the 11th Region tournament are Bryan Station, Frankfort, Franklin County, Henry Clay, Madison Central, Madison Southern, Lexington Catholic, and West Jessamine. The first round games will be played at the home of the district champions. (Note: Bryan Station's home game will be at Paul Dunbar). The semifinals and championship game will be played at McBrayer Arena on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.
Monday March 7th - Day 1
Lexington Catholic (22-7) vs. Madison Central (11-15) (at Madison Central High School)
Lexington Catholic coach Curtis Turley started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. P. J. Wilson, 6-2 Jr. Brian Hewitt, 6-5 Sr. Rob Riddell, 6-2 Sr. Joe Boneau, and 6-0 Jr. Cornell Burbage. Madison Central coach Allen Feldhaus, Jr. countered with 6-5 Fr. Aaron Morris, 6-2 So. Duane Fields, 6-5 Sr. Rob Hess, 5-10 Sr. Buddy Stone, and 5-8 Jr. Andrew Mathis.
Lexington Catholic utilized a strong bench performance tonight as they outscored the Indians bench 17-2 in a 63-52 victory. It was a game of runs in the third quarter as Madison Central rallied to cut the deficit to 35-30 before Lexington Catholic surged back to take a 48-31 lead at the end of three quarters. The victors shot 40% from the field, connected on 19 of 29 free throws and pulled down 43 rebounds. Madison Central shot 34% from the field, was 11 of 24 from the free throw line and grabbed 37 rebounds.
Rob Riddell and Cornell Burbage led Lexington Catholic with 12 and 11 points respectively. 6-6 Jr. Reid Brown added 10 points, four rebounds, and five blocked shots. Brian Hewitt scored six points and pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds. Duane Fields and Aaron Morris led Madison Central with 14 points each. Buddy Stone and Rob Hess each added 10 points and Hess pulled down 13 rebounds.

Madison Southern (19-9) vs. West Jessamine (21-6) (at West Jessamine High School)
West Jessamine’s swarming defense clamped down on Madison Southern as the Colts raced out to an 11-0 lead on their way to a 61-47 victory. Madison Southern entered the game as one of the best three point shooting teams in the state, but West Jessamine’s defense limited their effectiveness tonight. The victors were led tonight by 6-1 Sr. Trevor Gray, 6-3 Jr. Brian Johnson, and 5-11 Sr. Michael Spann with 16, 15, and 13 points respectively. 6-5 Jr. Luke Stocker led Madison Southern with 16 points.

Tuesday March 8th - Day 2
Franklin County (17-13) vs. Bryan Station (22-7) (at Paul Dunbar High School)
Franklin County coach Scott Chalk started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Chase Straw, 6-1 Jr. Cameron Conner, 6-7 Jr. Paul Chambers, 5-10 Jr. Matt Harris, and 6-0 Sr. Rashad Rowe. Bryan Station coach Champ Ligon countered with 6-1 Sr. Martin Ashford, 5-11 Sr. Jarrod Gay, 6-4 So. Jaron Jones, 5-11 Sr. D. J. Adams, and 5-8 Sr. Tino Washington.
Bryan Station took an early 11-1 lead and control of the game in a 64-45 victory over Franklin County. Bryan Station shot 44.7% from the field including eight of 17 from beyond the arc. The Defenders connected on 14 of 19 from the free throw line, pulled down 25 rebound, and scored 19 points off 18 Franklin County turnovers. Franklin County shot 40% from the field, was 10 of 14 from the free throw line and grabbed 29 rebounds.
6-2 Sr. Alex Harless led the victors with 10 points. Jaron Jones and Tino Washington added nine points each. Rashad Rowe led Franklin County with seven points, six rebounds, and four steals. Cameron Conner and Chase Straw added six points each.

Henry Clay (27-3) vs. Frankfort (19-9) (at Frankfort High School)
Henry Clay coach Kirk Chiles started the following lineup: 6-2 Jr. Aaron Miller, 6-0 Sr. Bryan Turnage, 6-3 Fr. Aaron Boyd, 5-9 Sr. Noade Day, and 6-2 Jr. Aaron Dunaway. Frankfort coach Brad Mefford countered with 6-5 Sr. Tory Robertson, 5-11 Jr. Matt Anderson, 6-3 Sr. Ryan Cash, 5-11 Sr. Josh Oliver, and 6-1 Sr. Will Current.
Henry Clay trailed 54-50 late in the third quarter but rallied to defeat Frankfort 78-72. Frankfort only trailed 67-65 with 1:26 remaining on the clock but Henry Clay’s Aaron Dunaway hit a layup and free throw to give the victorious Blue Devils a little breathing room with less than a minute remaining in the game.
Henry Clay shot 43.9% from the field, connected on 15 of 23 free throws, and pulled down 36 rebounds . The Blue Devils scored 19 points off 16 Frankfort turnovers and held a 21-9 advantage on second chance points. Frankfort shot 48.1% from the field including 11 of 21 from beyond the arc. The Panthers connected on 11 of 17 free throws and pulled down 35 rebounds.
Aaron Dunaway led Henry Clay with 33 points. Dunaway was 12 of 21 from the field including five of four from the three point line and connected on five of six free throws. Noade Day added 15 points and 6-3 Fr. Victor Moses came off the bench to tally nine points. Bryan Turnage added seven points, six rebounds, six assists, and four steals.
Tory Robertson led Frankfort with 37 points and 11 rebounds. Robertson was 12 of 22 from the field including six of 10 from beyond the arc and seven of seven from the free throw line. Will Current and Matt Anderson added 14 and 11 points and respectively.

Friday March 11th - Day 3 (at McBrayer Arena)
Bryan Station (23-7) vs. Lexington Catholic (23-7) Semifinal No. 1
Bryan Station coach Champ Ligon started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Martin Ashford, 5-11 Sr. Jarrod Gay, 6-4 So. Jaron Jones, 5-11 Sr. D. J. Adams, and 5-8 Sr. Tino Washington. Lexington Catholic coach Curtis Turley countered with 6-2 Sr. P. J. Wilson, 6-2 Jr. Brian Hewitt, 6-5 Sr. Rob Riddell, 6-2 Sr. Joe Boneau, and 6-0 Jr. Cornell Burbage.
Bryan Station shut down the Lexington Catholic offense tonight holding the Knights to 3 for 23 from the field in the first half in a 47-29 victory. Bryan Station shot 38.6% from the field, was 11 of 14 from the free throw line and pulled down 41 rebounds. Lexington Catholic only shot 17% from the field, including one of 16 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 12 of 15 free throws and grabbed 27 rebounds.
6-3 Sr. Stephon Walker and 6-1 Fr. Shelvin Mack led the victors with 10 and nine points respectively. D. J. Adams added seven points and pulled down seven rebounds. Joe Boneau led Lexington Catholic with 10 points.

Henry Clay trailed 40-33 entering the fourth quarter but senior guard Noade Day scored nine points to lead a Blue Devil comeback to earn a hard-fought 48-47 victory over West Jessamine. West Jessamine held a 46-43 lead until Aaron Dunaway hit two consecutive field goals to give Henry Clay a 47-46 lead. Eric Coker tied the score at 47-47 with a free throw for West Jessamine. Noade Day connected on one of two free throws to give Henry Clay a 48-47 lead and they survived a late shot by West Jessamine to claim the victory.
Henry Clay was 37.3% from the field, connected on six of 13 from the free throw line and pulled down 31 rebounds. The Blue Devils scored 16 points off 15 West Jessamine turnovers. West Jessamine shot 45.5% from the field, connected on 14 of 19 free throws, and pulled down 26 rebounds.
Noade Day led Henry Clay with 13 points and Aaron Miller added 12 points and seven rebounds. Trevor Gray and Michael Spann led West Jessamine with 17 and 16 points respectively.

Henry Clay coach Kirk Chiles started the following lineup: 6-2 Jr. Aaron Miller, 6-0 Sr. Bryan Turnage, 6-3 Fr. Aaron Boyd, 5-9 Sr. Noade Day, and 6-2 Jr. Aaron Dunaway. Bryan Station coach Champ Ligon countered with 6-1 Sr. Martin Ashford, 5-11 Sr. Jarrod Gay, 6-4 So. Jaron Jones, 5-11 Sr. D. J. Adams, and 5-8 Sr. Tino Washington.
The score was tied 32-32 at the end of three quarters but Henry Clay’s Aaron Dunaway scored 13 points in the final quarter to lead his team to a 52-46 victory. The victors shot 43.9% from the field, connected on 11 of 19 free throws, and pulled down 29 rebounds. Bryan Station shot 37.8% from the field, connected on seven of 12 free throws, and pulled down 29 rebounds.
Henry Clay was led by Aaron Dunaway with 29 points. Dunaway was 11 of 15 from the field including three of five from beyond the arc and connected on all four free throws. Aaron Boyd added seven points and pulled down eight rebounds. Tino Washington led Bryan Station with 15 points. Jaron Jones added eight points and pulled down six rebounds.

Conclusion
Congratulations to Coach Kirk Chiles and the Henry Clay Blue Devils for claiming the title and earning a trip to the state tourney. The Blue Devils had a tough draw in the tourney as they had to defeat Frankfort, West Jessamine, and Bryan Station to capture the title.
Bryan Station continued their turnaround this year as they finished 24-8 and reached a Top 10 ranking this year. This was all accomplished despite playing all their games away as their gym is being rebuilt. Congratulations to the seven seniors Martin Ashford, Brandon Moment, Tino Washington, D. J. Adams, Alex Harless, Jarrod Gay, and Stephon Walker for being such an instrumental part of this year’s success and for laying the cornerstone for future Defender triumphs.
