Portsmouth Clay (OH)    vs.    Louisville Western
Portsmouth Clay coach Randy Ward started the following lineup:  6-5 Jr. Derrick Webb, 6-5 Jr. Justin Craft, 6-4 Jr. Kent Robinson, 6-1 Sr. Michael Thacker, and 6-7 Sr. Cam Thoroughman.  Louisville Western coach K. C. Goodin countered with 5-10 Sr. James Mason, 6-4 Sr. Ahmed Taofik, 6-5 Sr. Jimmoris Johnson, 5-10 Sr. Andre Barnes, and 5-10 Jr. Brandon Anderson.

Western scored 30 points off 21 Portsmouth Clay turnovers in a 63-60 overtime win.  Portsmouth Clay led 48-42 with 3:06 left in the game but Western went on a n 11-2 run to take a 53-50 lead with 10 seconds left in the game.  Cam Thoroughman hit three of four free throws down the stretch to tie the game and send it to overtime. 

Western shot 37.5% from the field, connected on only nine of 23 free throws, and pulled down 45 rebounds.  Portsmouth Clay shot 37% from the field, was 15 of 28 from the free throw line, and grabbed 47 rebounds. 

Andre Barnes led Western with 20 points.  6-4 So. Tamron Holt scored 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds, while Brandon Anderson added 12 points and dished out eight assists.  Ahmed Taofik chipped in with seven points and 12 rebounds.  Cam Thoroughman led Portsmouth Clay with 34 points and 17 rebounds.  Kent Robinson added 12 points and pulled down six rebounds.

Carroll County coach Dave Miller started the following lineup:  5-11 Jr. Bobby Riley, 6-4 Sr. Corey Stark, 6-8 Sr. Brett Miller, 5-10 Sr. Paul Williams, and 6-0 Jr. Chris Roberts.  Louisville Central coach Doug Bibby countered with 6-4 Sr. Leroy Nobles, 6-3 Sr. Darryl Bell, 6-5 Fr. Ridge Wilson, 5-9 Sr. Lamar Sistrunk, and 5-10 So. Randy Skeens.

Louisville Central raced out to a 37-16 halftime lead on their way to a 70-43 victory over Carroll County.  The victors scored 28 points off 31 Carroll County turnovers.  Louisville Central shot 42.9% from the field, connected on nine of 15 free throws, and grabbed 38 rebounds.  Central held a 16-0 in second chance points.  Carroll County shot 40.5% from the field, was eight of 14 from the free throw line, and pulled down 25 rebounds. 

Leroy Nobles led Louisville Central with 19 points and six rebounds, while Darryl Bell added 17 points.  Brent McMahan led Carroll County with 10 points.  Brett Miller added nine points, seven rebounds, and four blocked shots, while Corey Stark chipped in with nine points.

DuPont Manual scored 24 points off 19 Trigg County turnovers to earn a 60-51 victory over Trigg County.  The victorious Crimsons shot 46.9% from the field, connected on 12 of 30 free throws, and pulled down 29 rebounds.  Trigg County shot 43.8% from the field, was five of seven from the free throw line, and grabbed 32 rebounds. 

Tra’h Moore was named game MVP for Manual and scored 15 points, pulled down six rebounds, and recorded four steals.  Drew Smith added 13 points and eight rebounds while Aaron Williams chipped in with 11 points.  Russell Mackins was given the Best Hustler for Trigg County and led the Wildcats with 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Jeremy Jones added 12 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, and Rodney Davis chipped in with 12 points.

Henry Clay overcame a 45-37 deficit late in the third quarter to defeat Warren Central 66-58.  The Blue Devils outscored Warren Central 22-13 in the final quarter.  Henry Clay held a 14-3 margin in second chance points. 

Henry Clay shot 46.3% from the field, connected on 16 of 17 free throws, and pulled down 30 rebounds.  Henry Clay scored 21 points off 21 Warren Central turnovers.  Warren Central shot 50% from the field, was two of five from the free throw line, and grabbed 24 rebounds.  Warren Central scored 14 points off 15 Henry Clay turnovers. 

Aaron Miller was named game MVP for Henry Clay as he scored 21 points and pulled down six rebounds.  Victor Moses was given the Best Hustler award for Henry Clay and added 15 points and nine rebounds.  Aaron Dunaway chipped in with 14 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  Jeremy Anderson was named game MVP for Warren Central and tallied 20 points.  Monie Hudson received the Best Hustler award for Warren Central and added 10 points.  Joe Hood also chipped in with 10 points.

Lexington Catholic pulled to within one, 61-60, in the fourth quarter but Brentwood Academy held on for a 70-62 victory.  Lexington Catholic scored 23 points off 19 Brentwood Academy turnovers but Brentwood Academy blocked 20 shots for the evening including 16 by Brandan Wright.

Brentwood Academy shot 55.6% from the field, connected on 17 of 25 free throws, and pulled down 37 rebounds.  Lexington Catholic shot 32.4% from the field, was eight of 12 from the free throw line, and grabbed 39 rebounds.  Lexington Catholic scored 23 points off 19 turnovers.

Brandan Wright was named player of the game for Brentwood Academy and recorded 23 points, nine rebounds, and 16 blocked shots.  Joshua Bone was given the Best Hustler award for Brentwood Academy and scored 19 points.  Brian Wright chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds.  6-0 Sr. Cornell Burbage was named the Best Hustler for Lexington Catholic and tallied 15 points.  Nathan Novosel was named player of the game for Lexington Catholic and scored 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.

Oak Hill Academy utilized a balanced scoring attack to defeat Millersburg Military Institute 80-66.  Oak Hill Academy shot 50% from the field, connected on 28 of 38 free throws, and pulled down 32 rebounds.  Oak Hill Academy scored 26 points off 17 MMI turnovers.  Millersburg Military Institute shot 37.3% from the field, was 14 of 19 from the free throw line, and grabbed 40 rebounds.  MMI scored 14 points off 16 Oak Hill turnovers. 

Nolan Smith was named game MVP for Oak Hill and scored 17 points.  Landon Milbourne was given the team’s Best Hustler award and led the team with 19 points.  Michael Beasley and Jeff Allen added 15 and 12 points respectively, with each pulling down seven rebounds.  Billy Clark chipped in with 10 points and dished out nine assists.  Matthew Morgan was named game MVP for Millersburg Military Institute and tallied 35 points and 12 rebounds.  Morgan was 13 of 19 from the field and eight of eight from the free throw line.  David Wood was given the team Best Hustler award and recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

Conclusion
