Conclusion

Congratulations to Coach Jason Seamands and the Lexington Christian Academy Lady Eagles who concluded a storybook season with the state title.   Sr. Emily London led a talented group of underclassmen to the All "A" title and the state championship, picking up two MVP trophies in the process.  You can't say enough about her leadership and the talent of her young supporting cast.

Also congratulations to Coach Al Northington and his very talented Iroquois squad.   This team for the second consecutive year set a school record for wins.   Also congratulations to Pike County Central and Assumption for advancing to the final four.   Congratulations to Coach John High of Montgomery County on his distinguished career.

Nine of the players named to the All Tournament Team are underclassmen with six being sophs.  Several other girls not named to the All Tournament Team also had excellent tourneys.  6-0 Fr. Sarah Beth Barnette (Lexington Christian Academy) averaged 8.5 ppg and 9.3 rpg.   6-1 So. Clara Mitchell (Lexington Christian Academy) averaged 9.3 ppg and 9.5 rpg.   5-8 Jr. Maggie Prewitt (Montgomery County) averaged 20 ppg and 7 rpg.

There are too many teams to mention them all here but I have a rather simplistic approach to the state tourney.   Regardless of the outcome in any game here this week, there are absolutely no losers at the tourney.
