Lexington Catholic Coach Jeff Hans started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Natalie Novosel, 5-10 Jr. Shaneque McGhee, 6-0 Sr. Lauren Conrad, 5-9 Jr. Maggie Wilson, and 5-9 Sr. Briana Green. Lexington Christian Academy Coach Jason Semands countered with 6-0 So. Sarah Beth Barnette, 5-9 Jr. Anna Martin, 6-1 Jr. Clara Mitchell, 5-6 Sr. Hillary Thornton, and 5-10 Jr. Courtney Clifton.
Lexington Catholic went on a 12-2 run to start the fourth quarter and take a 51-43 lead on their way to a 57-50 victory over Lexington Christian Academy. Lexington Catholic led 31-22 at halftime behind 11 first half points by 5-9 Jr. Danielle Corbett. LCA rallied behind Courtney Clifton's eight third quarter points to lead 41-39 at the end of the period. Natalie Novosel led Lexington Catholic's winning rally in the final quarter with eight points. LCA was hampered by foul problems as Anna Martin picked up her fourth foul with 2:09 left in the third quarter. Lexington Catholic managed to find enough openings in LCA 's defense to record eight three point baskets including four of six from behind the arc by Danielle Corbett.
Lexington Catholic shot 33.3% from the field including eight of 18 from the three point line. The Lady Knights connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 23 LCA turnovers. LCA shot 41.2% from the field including six of 21 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on two of six free throws and grabbed 39 rebounds.
Briana Green led Lexington Catholic with 15 points including three three point baskets. Natalie Novosel added 14 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and seven steals. Danielle Corbett recorded 14 points including four three point baskets. Anna Martin led Lexington Christian Academy with 15 points. Clara Mitchell added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Courtney Clifton chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds. Sarah Beth Barnette recorded seven points and nine rebounds.
