Ballard (0-0) vs. Scott County (0-0)

Ballard Coach Chris Renner started the following lineup:  Martez Dow, Drew Hardin, 6-1 Jr. Ian Chiles, 5-11 Jr. Tyrell Means, and 5-10 Sr. Wesley Cox.  Scott County Coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-8 Jr. Dakotah Euton, 6-2 Jr. Ge-Lawn Guyn, 6-8 Sr. Richie Phares, 6-1 Sr. Aaron Ford, and 6-4 Jr. Chad Jackson

Scott County held a 56-38 rebounding margin over a smaller Ballard squad in a 90-70 victory.  The Cardinals trailed 19-9 after the first quarter but outscored Ballard 63-29 over the next two quarters to take control of the game.  The Bruins had no answer inside for Richie Phares who had a monster game with 31 points and 21 rebounds. 

Scott County shot 49.3% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 14 of 25 free throws, pulled down 56 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 22 Ballard turnovers.  Scott County held a 26-17 advantage in second chance points.  Ballard shot 33.8% from the field including nine of 35 from beyond the arc.  The Bruins connected on 13 of 19 free throws, grabbed 38 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 26 Scott County turnovers. 

Richie Phares led Scott County with 30 points and 21 rebounds.  Ge-Lawn Guyn added 23 points and seven rebounds.  Dakotah Euton chipped in with 15 points and 11 rebounds.  6-3 Fr. Tamron Manning continues to impress as he reached double figures with 11 points.  Wesley Cox led Ballard with 28 points including seven three point baskets.  Martez Dow added 12 points and pulled down nine rebounds.  Ian Chiles also recorded 12 points.
