Tates Creek (0-0) vs. Paul Dunbar (0-0)

Tates Creek Coach Wayne Breeden started the following lineup:  6-2 Sr. Kelwin Cuyler, 6-3 So. Marcellus Barksdale, 6-4 Jr. Ezra Garner, 5-11 So. Kendale Mack, and 5-11 Sr. Jordan Hagan.  Paul Dunbar Coach Carl "Redd" Hutchinson countered with 6-7 Jr. Bryce With, 6-2 8th grade Larry Morton, 6-7 Sr. Tyler Rogers, 5-11 Jr. Brett Waldrop, and 5-11 Sr. Nick Hudson

Paul Dunbar raced out to a 47-28 halftime lead, held off a third quarter rally by Tates Creek, and earned an 89-75 victory.  6-2 Sr. Todd Lanter came off the bench blazing hot from the field (six of 10 from the three point line) to lead the victors with 26 points.  Tates Creek made a valiant effort tonight despite the absence of one of their top players, 6-2 So. Ryan Fucci who is out with an ankle sprain. 

Dunbar shot 49.3% from the field including 11 of 19 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on 10 of 18 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 23 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 44.8% from the field including one of seven from beyond the arc.  The Commodores connected on 14 of 15 free throws, grabbed 42 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 16 Dunbar turnovers. 

Todd Lanter led Paul Dunbar with 26 points.  Nick Hudson added 21 points including four three point baskets.  5-10 Sr. Maquis Clay came off the bench to add 11 points.  Tyler Rogers chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.  Marcellus Barksdale led Tates Creek with 29 points and 10 rebounds.  Barksdale tallied 16 points in the third quarter.  6-2 Jr. Justin Daughtery and 6-1 So. Andre Ingram added 14 and 10 points respectively.
