Tuesday February 22nd

 

Sayre (19-5)  vs.  Scott County (15-10) (Girls)

 

Sayre coach Scott Sutton started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Bea Cameron, 6-0 Jr. Maddie Mitchell, 6-1 8th grade Gabby Bowie, 5-5 Jr. Sophie O’Rourke, and 5-7 Jr. Emily Culbertson.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-10 Sr. Kristen Stainback, 5-11 Fr. Tereka Guyn, 5-10 Sr. Alex McKenzie, 5-6 Jr. Ally Conrad, and 5-6 Fr. Audriana Christopher.

 

Scott County defeated Sayre tonight by a score of 78-43.  Scott County shot 53.7% from the field including eight of 19 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 24 Sayre turnovers.  Sayre shot 39.5% from the field and did not attempt any three point shots.  The Lady Spartans connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 22 Scott County turnovers.

 

Kristen Stainback led Scott County with 20 points including two three point baskets.  6-0 Fr. Holly Huellemeier added 16 points and seven rebounds.  Huellemeier was seven of eight from the field and two of two from the free throw line.  Ally Conrad chipped in with 10 points including three three point baskets.  Tereka Guyn recorded 10 points and four rebounds.

 

Maddie Mitchell led Sayre with 21 points.  Gabby Bowie added seven points and five rebounds.

Larry Morton, 6-1 Sr. Loran Smith, 6-2 Sr. Ray Roberts, John Harris, and 5-10 Jr. Darius Waide.  Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-4 Jr. Tamron Manning, 6-2 Jr. Isaiah Ivey, 6-4 Jr. Tanner Shotwell, 5-10 So. Quinn Richardson, and 6-1 Jr. Josh Harris.

 

Scott County defeated Bryan Station by a score of 66-41.  Scott county shot 42.3% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 18 of 26 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 34 points off 29 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 25.6% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Defenders connected on 15 of 20 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 19 Scott county turnovers.

 

Tanner Shotwell led Scott County with 14 points.  6-0 Sr. Trey Reliford added 12 points.  Tamron Manning recorded 11 points and 10 rebounds.

 

Larry Morton led Bryan Station with 12 points including three three point baskets.  6-0 Jr. Marcus Williams added 11 points and six rebounds.

Henry Clay coach Justin Schommer started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Candace Morton, 5-7 Sr. Kayla Price, 5-8 Jr. Sydney Dunham, 5-3 Sr. Kiky Morris, and 5-7 So. MacKenzie Claus.  Bryan Station coach Karra Jackson countered with 5-8 So. Serena Sandusky, 5-7 Sr. Victoria Clark, 6-0 Sr. Amber Crumbie, 5-7 Sr. Marissa Prince, and 5-6 Sr. Carrington Caise.

 

Henry Clay led 18-9 after the first quarter but Bryan Station rallied for a 66-51 victory.  Bryan Station shot 54% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Defenders connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 18 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 33.3% from the field including one of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Blue Devils connected on 22 of 30 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 23 Bryan Station turnovers.

Carrington Caise led a balanced Bryan Station attack with 16 points.  Amber Crumbie added 14 points and nine rebounds.  Serena Sandusky and Victoria Clark chipped in with 12 and 11 points respectively.

 

Candace Morton led Henry Clay with 30 points including 16 of 20 free throws.  Kayla Price added eight points.

Mike Smith.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-2 Sr. Trae Stewart, 6-0 Sr. Kendrick Prewitt, 6-4 Fr. Jordan Green, 6-0 Sr. Brandon Nichols, and 5-8 Jr. Wes Kimball.

 

Henry Clay defeated Sayre by a score of 78-67.  Henry Clay shot 49.1% from the field including eight of 20 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 16 of 22 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 14 Sayre turnovers.  Sayre shot 46.4% from the field including six of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Spartans connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored five points off six Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Brandon Nichols led Henry Clay with 19 points including four three point baskets.  Kendrick Prewitt and Jordan Green each scored 17 points.  Trey Grundy added 14 points and five rebounds.  Wes Kimball recorded nine points and seven assists.

 

Mike Smith led Sayre with 23 points.  Ray Brewer added 11 points and 12 rebounds.  Reid Freeman, Cabot Haggin, and Griffin Miller each scored 10 points.  Miller also pulled down six rebounds.

Serena Sandusky, 5-7 Sr. Victoria Clark, 6-0 Sr. Amber Crumbie, 5-7 Sr. Marissa Prince, and 5-6 Sr. Carrington Caise.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-10 Sr. Kristen Stainback, 5-11 Fr. Tereka Guyn, 5-10 Sr. Alex McKenzie, 5-6 Jr. Ally Conrad, and 5-6 Fr. Audriana Christopher.

 

Scott County defeated Bryan Station by a score of 75-51.  Scott County shot 50% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 19 of 25 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 19 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 37.7% from the field including one of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on 10 of 23 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 16 Scott County turnovers.

 

Kristen Stainback led Scott County with 30 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Alex McKenzie added 18 points and seven rebounds.

 

Serena Sandusky led Bryan Station with 14 points and six rebounds.  Amber Crumbie added 11 points and nine rebounds.  Victoria Clark recorded 11 points and four steals.

Henry Clay led 34-31 at halftime but Scott County rallied for a 79-66 victory.  Scott County shot 38.7% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 26 of 31 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 19 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 40.4% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devils connected on 26 of 38 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 11 Scott County turnovers.

 

Isaiah Ivey led Scott County with 27 points including two three point baskets.  Quinn Richardson and Josh Harris each scored 11 points.  Tamron Manning recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds.

 

Kendrick Prewitt led Henry Clay with 17 points.  Trey Grundy added 12 points.  Brandon Nichols chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets.  Jordan Green recorded seven points and eight rebounds.
