This tournament is in its 17th year and is rich in tradition. Past Champions have been Madison Central (1995-1996), Bryan Station (1996-1997), Scott County (1997-1998, 1998-1999, 1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2001-2002), Dixie Heights (2002-2003), Scott County (2003-2004, 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2007-2008, 2008-2009, 2009-2010), and George Rogers Clark (2010-2011).
Three years ago the Toyota Classic added a round-robin girls’ event that featured four teams.
This year’s field will consist of the following teams: Dixie Heights, Western, Lafayette, Scott County, New Rochelle (NY), Covington Catholic, Woodford County, and Christian County. The girls’ round-robin event will consist of Franklin County, Scott County, Clay County, and Boone County.
Wednesday January 18th
Scott County vs. Franklin County (Girls)
Scott County coach Steve Helton started the following lineup: 6-0 So. Tereka Guyn, 5-9 Sr. Mary Logsdon, 6-0 So. Iman Guy, 5-7 So. Danielle DeFoor, and 5-6 So. Audriana Christopher. Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 5-9 Jr. Megan Gearhart, 5-7 Jr. Lauren Taylor, 5-9 8th grader Malaka Frank, 5-7 Jr. Raven Timmons, and 5-3 So. Nannilena White.
Franklin County scored 25 points off 29 Scott County turnovers in a 52-47 victory. Franklin County shot 28.3% from the field including two of six from the three point line. The Lady Flyers connected on 20 of 31 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and held a 24-2 advantage in bench scoring. Scott County shot 36% from the field including three of 12 from beyond the arc. The Lady Cardinals connected on eight of nine free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored nine points off 15 Franklin County turnovers.
5-8 8th grader Dasia Kilbourne led Franklin County with 17 points. Raven Timmons added 11 points and seven rebounds. Malaka Frank recorded 10 points, six rebounds, and six steals.
Mary Logsdon led Scott County with 14 points and six rebounds. Audriana Christopher also scored 14 points and dished out five assists. Danielle DeFoor chipped in with nine points including two three point baskets. Tereka Guyn recorded six points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots.

Dixie Heights vs. Lafayette
Dixie Heights started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Juwan Evans, 6-0 So. Jordan Fox, 6-5 Sr. Parker Stansberry, 6-0 Sr. Jordan Hassel, and 6-2 So. Brandon Hatton. Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-7 Jr. Ethan Burlingham, 6-8 Jr. Nick Trisko, 6-8 So. Jackson Davis, 5-11 So. Lance Blakley, and 6-3 Jr. Tranard Chester.
Lafayette led 41-23 early in the third quarter but Dixie Heights, led by the offensive heroics of Brandon Hatton rallied for a 74-71 victory. Dixie Heights outscored Lafayette 29-17 in the final quarter. Dixie Heights shot 42.1% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on 22 of 29 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 21 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 41% from the field including two of 13 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on 19 of 27 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 13 Dixie Heights turnovers. Lafayette held a 15-2 advantage on second chance points.
Brandon Hatton led Dixie Heights with 34 points including three three point baskets and 11 of 12 from the free throw line. Juwan Evans added 18 points.
Jackson Davis led Lafayette with 19 points and six rebounds. Nick Trisko added 17 points and 13 rebounds. 6-7 Jr. Charles Sweat-Washington recorded 14 points and eight rebounds.

Woodford County led 51-34 early in the final quarter and survived a Western rally to earn a 55-51 victory. Woodford County shot 42.3% from the field including two of 12 from the three point line. The Yellow Jackets connected on nine of 12 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 20 Western turnovers. Woodford County held a 38-8 advantage in bench points. Western shot 40% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc. The Warriors connected on five of 12 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 21 Woodford County turnovers.
6-4 Jr. Landen Young led Woodford County with 20 points including two three point baskets. 6-7 Sr. Jay Johnson added 16 points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots. David Greenwell recorded 11 points and seven rebounds.
Charles Jacobs led Western with 14 points. Chris McCraw added 12 points. Jamel Clay recorded seven points, five rebounds, four assists, and six steals.

Boone County led 44-22 early in the final quarter and withstood a late Clay County rally to earn a 51-43 victory. Boone County shot 51.4% from the field including one of six from the three point line. The Lady Rebels connected on 12 of 24 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 21 Clay County turnovers. Clay County shot 48.6% from the field including three of five from beyond the arc. The Lady Tigers connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Boone County turnovers.
Sydney Moss led Boone County with 23 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four blocked shots, and six steals. Lydia Nash added 11 points and five rebounds.
Cheyenne Madden led Clay County with 14 points and 12 rebounds. 5-5 Fr. Ajaycia Cotton added 10 points and Alisha Mitchell recorded nine points.

Jackson Davis led Lafayette with 20 points, eight rebounds, and four steals. Tranard Chester added 16 points including three three point baskets. Nick Trisko recorded 13 points and six rebounds.

Tamron Manning led Scott County with 17 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Isaiah Ivey added 13 points and eight rebounds. Trenton Gilbert also scored 13 points. Josh Harris chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds.
6-1 Jr. Brandon Ward, Zack Tobler, and Sawyer Pauly led Covington Catholic with seven, six, and six points respectively.

Sean Fener led the victors with 15 points. 5-10 Sr. Chris Elefante added 13 points and five steals. Joseph Clarke chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds and Terrence Holden recorded 12 points and eight rebounds.
Demarius Poindexter led Christian county with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots. Jarvis Irby and C.J. Cotton each recorded 11 points.

Clay County only connected on one three point basket all night but it came at an opportune time as Alisha Mitchell nailed a long three point basket in the closing seconds of the game to give Clay County a 49-46 victory over Scott County. Scott County led 25-17 in the second quarter but Clay County rallied to lead 32-31 at halftime. There were three ties and 10 lead changes in the game.
Clay County shot 35.2% from the field including one of 12 from the three point line. The Lady Tigers connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored four points off nine Scott County turnovers. Scott County shot 26.7% from the field including eight of 26 from beyond the arc. The Lady Cardinals connected on six of 14 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Clay County turnovers.
Cheyenne Madden led Clay County with 26 points and 18 rebounds. Madden was nine of 12 from the field and eight of eight from the free throw line. Alisha Mitchell and Natosha Gilbert added seven and six points respectively.
Danielle DeFoor led Scott County with 19 points including six three point baskets. Mary Logsdon added eight points and six rebounds. Tereka Guyn chipped in with seven points and 14 rebounds.

Zack Tobler led Covington Catholic with 18 points and seven rebounds. Tobler was eight of 10 from the field and two of two from the free throw line. Nick Ruthsatz added 15 points.

Western captured a 76-71 overtime victory over Christian County. Western trailed 56-46 in the final quarter but rallied for the victory. Western shot 45.9% from the field including two of eight from the three point line. The Warriors connected on 18 of 29 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 32 points off 25 Christian County turnovers. Christian County shot 37.5% from the field including four of eight from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on 25 of 37 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 30 Western turnovers.
