Several other players impressed this weekend including KY Elite’s Braxton Beverly (Perry County Central) and Corey Stearns (Wayne County), Attucks Wolfpack’s Nick Hatcher and Marcus Wade (Hopkinsville), DC Elite’s Richard Gaines (Pleasure Ridge Park), 859 Hornets’ Deonta Alcorn and DA Jones (Henry Clay), The Ville’s Jalen Perry (Ballard) and Will Parker (Male), Lex Colonels’ Matt Rose (Lexington Christian Academy) and Shon Wright (Lafayette), and Charlotte Court’s Lucky Jackson (Lafayette) and Desmond Duke (Tates Creek).

6-0 Jeremiah Tisdale, 6-7 Justin Miller, and 6-3 Zac Baxter impressed and led their team to the title and Rashawn Robinson impressed with his ability to get to the rim.  6-6 Matt Rose intrigued onlookers with his athleticism and unlimited potential.  Braxton Beverly has already impressed with a state tournament appearance and Corey Stearns has the ability to light up the scoreboard.

Boys 10th Grade – Hoop Dreams Maxey captured the championship with a 6-0 record and an average victory margin of 25 ppg.  Key members of this team included Shane Hall (Johnson Central), Davell Roby (Memphis White Station), Curtis Phillips (Memphis), Wes Noble (Breathitt County), Austin Rentfrow (Marshall County), Jordan Fox (Dixie Heights), David Kapinga and Justin Edwards (Southwestern), and Tony Wolter (East Ridge).  Noble, Roby, and Rentfrow led the victors with 18, 16, and 15 points respectively in their 87-65 championship victory over Hoop Dreams Price.  Hoop Dreams Price was led this weekend by Chris Hudson (Cordia), Anthony Tagoloa (Bryan Station), Bryan Wallace (Shelby County), Hunter Shelton (Apollo), and Josh Hollan (Hazard).

Other impressive players this weekend included Louisville Prospects Dominique Harding and Bryce Byrd (Elizabethtown), Kentucky Rush Daniel Helton, Zach McNeil, and Tanner Moeves (Walton-Verona), Next Level Robert Shaw (St. Xavier) and Antonio McDaniel (Pleasure Ridge Park), Attucks Wolfpack JaQualis Matlock (Hopkinsville), Lashawn Evans and Quan Poindexter (Christian County), Charlotte Court Austin Crisp (Montgomery County), Darion Burns (Fleming County), and Daquice Allen (Bryan Station), WKY Elite Quentel Bradley (Glasgow).

6-8 Shane Hall continues to impress and is an athletic defender and rebounder.  6-5 Chris Hudson came to Cordia via the Houston Texas area and is very athletic and has excellent ‘hops”.  6-4 JaQualis Matlock was playing “up” and still excelled this weekend.  Wes Noble put up some excellent numbers this weekend and 6-8 Austin Rentfrow played well during this tournament.

Boys 11th Grade – Coach Ellis Myles split the Louisville Magic squad into two teams; Louisville Magic Red and Louisville Magic Black.  Louisville Magic Red captured the championship with a 6-0 record this weekend with an average victory margin of 24 ppg.  Louisville Magic Red defeated The Ville 81-68 in the championship game led by Derek Willis and Kelan Martin with 17 points each.  The Ville was short-handed as Darryl Hicks was out with an injury and Omar Prewitt attended his sister’s college graduation.  Members of the victorious Magic Red team were Quentin Snider and Kelan Martin (Ballard), Derek Willis (Bullitt East), LaMontrey Harris (Pleasure Ridge Park), Darryl Baker (Jeffersonville IN), Craig Owens (Trinity), and Jeremiah Bell (Butler).  The Ville squad was led this weekend by Dominique Hawkins, Quan Taylor, and Ken-Jah Bosley (Madison Central), Lavonne Holland (Ballard), Darryl Hicks (Trinity), Omar Prewitt (Montgomery County), and David Levitch (North Oldham).

Other impressive players this weekend included Louisville Magic Black’s Dillon Avare (Lexington Catholic), Jordan Green and Christen Cunningham (Henry Clay), Brandon Hatton (Dixie Heights), and Jackson Davis (Lafayette), BA Hoyas’ Rusty Troutman and Trey Rakes (Bullitt East), Sam Strothman (Trinity), and Demetrius McReynolds (Butler), Hoop Dreams’ Jordan Brangers (Eastern) exploded for 37 points including six three point baskets in one game, Attucks Wolfpack’s Jordan Majors (Hopkinsville), Louisville Storm’s Dominique Chandler (Central) and Logan O’Bryan (Daviess County), Spiece Gators Black’s Josh Payne (Fairdale), CKY Storm’s Larry Morton, Spiece Gators White’s Tanner Clark (Franklin-Simpson), Crons’ Riley Barnes (Simon Kenton) and Justin Saunders (Bishop Brossart).  KY Elite’s Mason Monroe (Pendleton County), Dalton Cornett (Perry County Central), Brock Kiesler (St. Xavier), Nick Trisko (Lafayette), and Quinn Richardson (Scott County).

Quentin Snider has developed into a high scoring point guard with the complete skill package (scoring, rebounding, and dishing the ball).  Derek Willis is a 6-9 player with excellent basketball skills and Kelan Martin is a solid performer who wins.  Dominique Hawkins continues to display backcourt skills which makes him one of the premier players in the state.
