Louisville Holy Cross  vs.  Butler

 

Holy Cross coach Fred Copass started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Josie Hockman, 5-9 Sr. Sydney Morabito, 6-0 Sr. Jill Epperson, 5-3 Sr. Morgan Wimberg, and 5-4 Jr. Rebecca Miller.  Butler coach Larry Just countered with 5-10 Jr. Danielle Lawrence, 5-10 Sr. Aareon Smith, 5-10 So. Miah Casey, 5-9 Sr. Alexis Stallard, and 5-8 Sr. Brooke Pearson.

 

Butler raced out to a 16-2 first quarter lead on their way to a 66-57 victory over Holy Cross.  Butler shot 52.5% from the field including zero of four from the three point line.  The Bearettes connected on 24 of 27 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 32 points off 28 Holy Cross turnovers.  Holy Cross shot 40.5% from the field including four of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cougars connected on 23 of 25 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 19 Butler turnovers.

 

Danielle Lawrence led Butler with 22 points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Aareon Smith added 18 points including 14 of 14 free throws, four assists, and four steals.  Alexis Stallard chipped in with 11 points, four rebounds, and five assists.

 

5-4 Fr. Olivia Morabito led Holy Cross with 15 points including three three point baskets.  Josie Hockman added 13 points.  Sydney Morabito recorded 11 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Bullitt East  vs.  North Bullitt

 

Bullitt East coach Chris Stallings started the following lineup: 5-7 Sr. Cady Cornell, 5-9 Jr. Courtney Pfister, 5-10 Sr. Kylee Willis, 5-4 Jr. Emily Fryman, and 5-7 Jr. Taylor Blain.  North Bullitt coach Amber Courtney countered with 5-10 Sr. Caitlin Montgomery, 5-7 Sr. Reba Stice, 5-10 Sr. Kasey McCoy, 5-6 So. Rachel Badgett, and 5-6 Jr. Savannah Morrison.

 

Bullitt East defeated North Bullitt by a score of 59-46.  Bullitt East shot 37.5% from the field including two of five from the three point line.  The Lady Chargers connected on 21 of 39 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 25 North Bullitt turnovers.  North Bullitt shot 30% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on 20 of 30 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored seven points off 15 Bullitt East turnovers.

 

5-7 8th grade Lindsey Duvall led Bullitt East with 23 points.  5-9 Sr. Taylor Williamson added nine points and six rebounds.

 

Savannah Morrison led North Bullitt with 20 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Caitlin Montgomery added seven points and seven rebounds.

Moore  vs.  Pleasure Ridge Park

 

Moore coach Glendale Zell II started the following lineup: 5-7 Sr. Elizabeth Horseman, 5-3 Fr. Aerial McKay, 5-11 Sr. Kristin Longaker, 5-2 Sr. Ashley Adkins, and 5-2 Sr. Amber Johnson.  Pleasure Ridge Park coach David Meadows countered with  5-8 Sr. Tatyannia Taylor, 5-8 Sr. Alexis Stewart, 5-9 Jr. Paige Murphy, 5-3 Fr. Remi Jones, and 5-8 Sr. Kelsey Adwell.

 

Pleasure Ridge Park defeated Moore by a score of 76-36.  Pleasure Ridge Park shot 50% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Panthers connected on 18 of 26 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 14 Moore turnovers.  Moore shot 21.4% from the field including zero of eight from beyond the arc.  The Lady Mustangs connected on 18 of 29 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored nine points off 14 Pleasure Ridge Park turnovers.

 

Kelsey Adwell led PRP with 20 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals.  Paige Murphy added 20 points and six rebounds.  5-11 Jr. Rayven Shead recorded 15 points and 10 rebounds.  Tatyannia Taylor chipped in with eight points and 10 rebounds.

 

Amber Johnson led Moore with 13 points including 11 of 13 free throws.  Ashley Adkins added 10 points and three steals.  5-9 Jr. Dayshea White chipped in with six points and five rebounds.

Western  vs.  Mercy Academy

 

Western coach Clint Lovely started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Diynell Calvert, 5-9 Sr. Nyquasha Lewis, 6-1 Sr. Lelanda Matthews, 5-5 So. Datoria Higgins, and 5-3 8th grade Amani Saunders.  Mercy Academy coach Mark Evans countered with 5-10 Sr. Morgan Doherty, 5-8 So. Hannah Bewley, 6-0 So. Malerie Martin, 5-7 Sr. Kayla Richardson, and 5-8 Sr. Whitney Hartlage.

 

Mercy Academy defeated Western by a score of 76-34.  Mercy shot 48.3% from the field including three of 18 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 17 of 26 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 27 Western turnovers.  Western shot 23.3% from the field including one of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Warriors connected on 13 of 20 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 18 Mercy turnovers.

 

Whitney Hartlage led Mercy with 15 points.  Morgan Doherty, 5-7 Fr. Camryn White, 5-8 Fr. Erin Muthler, and 5-10 So. Kassidy Kiesel each recorded 11 points.  Hannah Bewley added 10 points.  5-10 So Sarah Parr pulled down nine rebounds.

 

Diynell Calvert led Western with 12 points and nine rebounds.  Lelanda Matthews added seven points, five rebounds, two blocked shots, and three steals.  Datoria Higgins also scored seven points.

Butler defeated Bullitt East by a score of 50-30.  Butler shot 41.4% from the field including one of two from the three point line.  The Bearettes connected on 25 of 33  free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored eight points off 24 Bullitt East turnovers.  Bullitt East shot 29.4% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Chargers connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 19 Butler turnovers.

 

Aareon Smith led Butler with 12 points.  Alexis Stallard added 11 points.  Danielle Lawrence recorded 10 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.

 

5-7 8th grade Lindsey Duvall led Bullitt East with six points.  Emily Fryman added five points.  Kylee Willis recorded four points and six rebounds.

Mercy Academy  vs.  Pleasure Ridge Park  (Semifinal)

 

Mercy Academy coach Mark Evans started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Morgan Doherty, 5-8 So. Hannah Bewley, 6-0 So. Malerie Martin, 5-7 Sr. Kayla Richardson, and 5-8 Sr. Whitney Hartlage.  Pleasure Ridge Park coach David Meadows countered with  5-8 Sr. Tatyannia Taylor, 5-8 Sr. Alexis Stewart, 5-9 Jr. Paige Murphy, 5-3 Fr. Remi Jones, and 5-8 Sr. Kelsey Adwell.

 

Mercy Academy led 42-37 at halftime and outscored Pleasure Ridge Park 20-6 in the third quarter on their way to a 76-53 victory.  Mercy shot 43.1% from the field including seven of 17 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 25 of 40 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 26 pleasure Ridge Park turnovers.  Pleasure Ridge Park shot 32.7% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc.  They went cold after halftime and was only 5 of 24 from the field after the intermission.  The Lady Panthers connected on 16 of 22 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 13 Mercy turnovers.

 

Whitney Hartlage led Mercy with 27 points including three three point baskets.  Morgan Doherty added 19 points.  Kayla Richardson chipped in with 11 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Malerie Martin recorded nine points, seven rebounds, five blocked shots, and five steals.

 

Kelsey Adwell led Pleasure Ridge Park with nine points, eight rebounds, and eight assists.  Tatyannia Taylor added nine points and four rebounds.  5-11 Jr. Rayven Shead chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.

Mercy Academy raced out to a 17-9 first quarter lead on their way to a 66-54 victory over Butler.  Mercy shot 39.5% from the field including seven of 16 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 25 of 37 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 25 Butler turnovers.  Butler shot 40.9% from the field including zero of nine from beyond the arc.  The Bearettes connected on 18 of 28 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 18 Mercy turnovers.

 

Whitney Hartlage led Mercy with 33 points including six three point baskets and six rebounds.  Hartlage was eight of 14 from the field including six of seven from beyond the arc, and 11 of 15 free throws.  Kayla Richardson added 17 points, four assists, and three steals.

 

Aareon Smith led Butler with 21 points including nine of 10 free throws and 10 rebounds.  Danielle Lawrence added 17 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and five steals.
