Trinity  vs.  Ballard

 

Trinity coach Mike Szabo started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Darryl Hicks, 6-2 Sr. James Quick, 6-3 Jr. Craig Owens, 5-10 Jr. Trey Ivory, and 5-10 Sr. Miles Rice.  Ballard coach Chris Renner countered with 6-3 Fr. Malik Dow, 5-10 Sr. Dontez Byrd, 6-6 Jr. Kelan Martin, 6-0 Sr. Lavonne Holland, and 6-1 Jr. Quentin Snyder.

 

Ballard led 24-23 at halftime and outscored Trinity 15-7 in the third quarter on their way to a 57-46 victory.  The score was tied four times and there were four lead changes in the game.  Ballard shot 45.2% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line.  The Bruins connected on 15 of 26 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 12 Trinity turnovers.  Trinity shot 30.6% from the field including four of 27 from beyond the arc.  The Shamrocks connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 18 Ballard turnovers.  Trinity attempted 20 more shots (62-42) from the field than Ballard.

 

Quentin Snyder led Ballard with 21 points including three three point baskets and nine rebounds.  Kelan Martin added 18 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Lavonne Holland chipped in with 10 points and three steals.

 

Darryl Hicks led Trinity with 18 points including two three point baskets and six rebounds.  Trey Ivory added 13 points.  James Quick chipped in with nine points and 6-4 Sr. Sam Strothman pulled down nine rebounds.
