Atherton vs. Waggener

 

Atherton coach Woodrow Murphy started the following lineup: 5-6 Jr. Mackenzie Dozier, 5-6 Jr. Jasmine Lewis, 5-8 So. Diamond White, 5-2 Jr. Summer Wright, and 5-4 Jr. Ruby Allgeier.  Waggener coach Maurice Ponder countered with 5-7 Fr. Emoni Washington, 5-6 Sr. Chanel Gordon, 6-2 Jr. Alexandria Peden, 5-3 Fr. Valerie Johnson, and 5-6 Jr. Stephanie Woolridge.

 

Waggener defeated Atherton by a score of 57-33.  Waggener shot 35.45 from the field including two of 14 from the three point line.  The Lady Wildcats connected on nine of 18 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 42 Atherton turnovers.  Atherton shot 27.5% from the field including zero of one from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rebels connected on 11 of 23 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 25 Waggener turnovers.

 

Stephanie Woolridge led Waggener with 14 points and five steals.  Alexandria Peden added 13 points and six rebounds.  5-9 Jr. Sariyah Shahid-Jenkins pulled down seven rebounds.

 

Jasmine Lewis led Atherton with 10 points, 10 rebounds, two blocked shots, and three steals.  5-0 Jr. Paige Lockard added six points.  Diamond White pulled down seven rebounds.

Seneca vs. Sacred Heart Academy

 

Seneca coach Latasha Peterson started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Yakesha Gordon, 5-10 Fr. Alexis White, 5-11 Fr. Ashanti Starks, 4-10 So. Terica Motley, and 5-6 Sr. Briana Graves.  Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 5-9 Sr. DaiJia Ruffin, 5-6 Sr. Raven Merriweather, 5-10 So. Lydia Taylor, 5-4 Jr. Gretchen Samsel, and 5-6 So. Meghan Colley.

 

Sacred Heart Academy raced out to a 34-2 first quarter lead on their way to a 75-8 victory over Seneca.  Sacred Heart Academy shot 60.9% from the field including six of 11 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 13 of 21 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 36 points off 28 Seneca turnovers.  Seneca shot 7.69% from the field including zero of eight from beyond the arc.  They were zero for 22 from the field in the second half.  The Lady Redhawks connected on two of eight free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and did not score off 14 Sacred Heart Academy turnovers.

 

Lydia Taylor led Sacred Heart with 10 points.  5-10 Jr. April Gahafer added eight points and seven rebounds.  5-10 So. Mary Singler also scored eight points.  Raven Merriweather chipped in with seven points.

 

5-6 Jr. Kadiesha Fant led Seneca with four points.  Alexis White added three points.

Sacred Heart Academy vs. Waggener (Championship)

 

Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. DaiJia Ruffin, 5-6 Sr. Raven Merriweather, 5-10 So. Lydia Taylor, 5-4 Jr. Gretchen Samsel, and 5-6 So. Meghan Colley.  Waggener coach Maurice Ponder countered with 5-7 Fr. Emoni Washington, 5-6 So. Davianna Ruff, 6-2 Jr. Alexandria Peden, 5-3 Fr. Valerie Johnson, and 5-6 Jr. Stephanie Woolridge.

 

Sacred Heart outscored Waggener 25-9 in the third quarter to break open the game in an 80-63 victory.  There were six lead changes and three ties in this game.  Sacred Heart shot 56.1% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 10 of 25 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 44 points off 32 Waggener turnovers.  Waggener shot 46% from the field including three of five from beyond the arc.  The Lady Wildcats connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored six points off 14 Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

Raven Merriweather led Sacred Heart with 23 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and eight steals.  Gretchen Samsel added 13 points including three three point baskets.  DaiJia Ruffin chipped in with 10 points.

 

Alexandria Peden led Waggener with 16 points and 12 rebounds.  Stephanie Woolridge added 15 points.  Emoni Washington chipped in with 12 points.  Davianna Ruff also reached double figures with 10 points.
