St. John’s (DC) coach Sean McAloor started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Kylia Sykes, 6-3 Sr. Kris Saulny, 6-6 Sr. Matas Budrys, 5-11 Jr. Anthony Cowan Jr., and 6-1 Jr. Jeffrey Dowtin.  Ballard coach Chris Renner countered with 6-3 Jr. Jake Ramsey, 6-2 Sr. Anthony Eaves, 6-7 Sr. Corey Douglas, 5-11 Sr. Paul Schiavone, and 6-2 Sr. Jalen Perry.

 

St. John’s defeated the defending King of the Bluegrass champion 69-61 in overtime.  St. John’s shot 42.3% from the field including one of 10 from the three point line.  The Cadets connected on 24 of 35 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 15 Ballard turnovers.  Ballard shot 28.6% from the field including eight of 28 from beyond the arc.  The Bruins connected on 17 of 28 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 St. John’s turnovers.

 

Anthony Cowan Jr. led St. John’s with 22 points including 10 of 14 free throws and four steals.  Kylia Sykes added 14 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals.  Kris Saulny chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds. 

 

Jalen Perry led Ballard with 23 points including three three point baskets and 12 rebounds.  Anthony Eaves also scored 23 points including four three point baskets and eight rebounds.

Wayne County defeated Fairdale by a score of 73-62.  Wayne County shot 38.2% from the field including seven of 23 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 24 of 31 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 18 Fairdale turnovers.  Fairdale shot 44.4% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored nine points off 12 Wayne County turnovers.

 

Corey Stearns led Wayne County with 25 points and 10 rebounds.  Peyton Woods added 23 points including four three point baskets.  Trey Blevins also scored 23 points including three three point baskets.  Nick Gillespie and Jackson Baker pulled down 11 and 10 rebounds respectively.

Quentin Goodin led Taylor County with 29 points.  David Sloan added 24 points including three three point baskets.  Brandon Berry recorded 15 points and eight rebounds.

 

De’Von Cooper led Waggener with 23 points including nine of nine free throws.  Jaalam Hill added 16 points and five rebounds.  Kevin Kirby recorded 11 points and 13 rebounds.  Nicholas Kratholm pulled down eight rebounds.

South Shore defeated De La Salle by a score of 50-41.  South Shore shot 51.5% from the field including three of seven from the three point line.  The Vikings connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 13 De La Salle turnovers.  De La Salle shot 24.1% from the field including one of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Meteors connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored six points off 16 South Shore turnovers.

 

Nick Simeon led South Shore with 15 points including two three point baskets and five assists.  Cori Johnson added 10 points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Cheyenne Nettleton chipped in with nine points.

Bullitt East trailed 55-45 after three quarters but rallied in the final quarter to earn a 67-65 victory over Holmes.  Bailey Rakes hit a layup in the closing seconds to give Bullitt East a 67-65 lead and Holmes’ James Bolden missed a three point attempt at the buzzer.  Bullitt East shot 44.6% from the field including eight of 20 from the three point line.  The Chargers connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Holmes turnovers.  Holmes shot 49.1% from the field including eight of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on five of 12 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 16 Bullitt East turnovers.

 

Tyler Sharpe led Bullitt East with 19 points including four three point baskets and five rebounds.  6-0 Jr. Garrett Wilson added 16 points.  Wilson was six of six from the field including one of one from beyond the arc and three of three free throws.  Brandon Klefot recorded 10 points and eight rebounds.  Tyler Bacon chipped in with seven points and six rebounds.  Bailey Rakes added six points and six assists.

Doss outscored Owensboro 33-25 in the final quarter on their way to a 75-71 victory over Owensboro.  The score was tied three times and there were nine lead changes in the game.  Doss shot 36.8% from the field including five of 25 from the three point line.  The Dragons connected on 28 of 40 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 18 Owensboro turnovers.  Owensboro shot 56.3% from the field including five of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Red Devils connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 10 points off six Doss turnovers.

5-11 Sr. Nick Anderson led Doss with 16 points including four three point baskets.  Dajon McCarley added 13 points including three three point baskets, seven rebounds, and four assists.  Terell Gray recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds.  Dujuanta Weaver also scored 12 points.  Jaylon Hall scored 10 points.
