Franklin County vs. Scott County (Boys)

 

Franklin County coach Tony Wise started the following lineup: 6-3 Jr. DeMarcus Kennedy, 6-3 Sr. Michael Clark, 6-5 Sr. Cooper Giles, 5-7 8th Grade Diablo Stewart, and 6-2 Sr. Ryan Schneider.  Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-3 Sr. Isaiah Johnson, 6-2 Sr. Hines Jones, 6-4 So. Cooper Watts, 5-10 Sr. Jamel Banks, and 6-0 Sr. Clarien Washington.

 

Scott County outscored Franklin County 21-9 in the second quarter on their way to a 67-56 victory.  There were six lead changes and five ties in this game.  Scott County converted 23 Franklin County turnovers into 31 points.  Scott County shot 50% from the field including two of nine from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on nine of 19 free throws and pulled down 24 rebounds.  Franklin County shot 56.4% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  Franklin County attempted 17 less shots (56-39) from the field than Scott County.  The Flyers connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored two points off eight Scott County turnovers.

 

Clarien Washington led Scott County with 15 points, three assists, and four steals.  Hines Jones added 11 points.  Isaiah Johnson recorded nine points, four rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Cooper Watts chipped in with eight points.

 

Ryan Schneider led Franklin County with 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists.  Michael Clark added 12 points and five rebounds.  Diablo Stewart chipped in with eight points and four assists.  Cooper Giles also scored eight points.  DeMarcus Kennedy recorded seven points and eight rebounds.

Lafayette trailed 44-42 after three quarters but rallied to defeat Dixie Heights by a score of 61-53.  There were 10 lead changes and six ties in this game.  Lafayette shot 47.8% from the field including seven of 22 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 19 Dixie Heights turnovers.  Dixie Heights short 55.3% from the field including three of five from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Harrison Lane led Lafayette with 21 points including five three point baskets.  Jajuante Carpenter added 10 points and four assists.  Ross Jenkins chipped in with eight points and four rebounds.

 

Liam Rabe led Dixie Heights with 11 points including two three point baskets.  Hunter Meyer added 11 points and four rebounds.  Destin Scheck chipped in with nine points.  6-3 Sr. Drew Moore and 6-5 Sr. Andrew Hedger recorded eight points and six rebounds each.

Scott County defeated Boone County by a score of 62-45.  Scott County shot 44.9% from the field including three of nine from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Boone County turnovers.  Boone County shot 21.7% from the field including four of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rebels connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored eight points off 18 Scott County turnovers.

 

Juliette Smith led Scott County with 18 points, six rebounds, and four assists.  Lauren Boehm added 12 points and 14 rebounds.  Peyton Riddle chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets.

 

Alexis Switzer led Boone County with 14 points and three assists.  Macey Ford added 10 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Sadie Moore pulled down seven rebounds.

Dixie Heights defeated Franklin County by a score of 49-42.  Dixie Heights shot 52.8% from the field including four of nine from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on seven of 15 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 42.5% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Flyers connected on two of two free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 10 points off nine Dixie Heights turnovers.

 

Austin Scheck led Dixie Heights with 14 points.  6-3 Sr. Drew Moore added nine points.  Andrew Hedger recorded seven points and four rebounds.  Mitchell Bolin chipped in with six points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Liam Rabe also scored six points and dished out three assists.

 

Ryan Schneider led Franklin County with 13 points, four rebounds, and four assists.  Diablo Stewart added 12 points including two three point baskets.  Michael Clark pulled down six rebounds.

Clay County pulled away in the second half to defeat Woodford County by a score of 60-33.  Clay County shot 53.5% from the field including seven of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Tigers connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored five points off 11 Woodford County turnovers.  Woodford County shot 25.6% from the field including five of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Yellow Jackets connected on six of 13 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored five points off 15 Clay County turnovers.

 

Kelli Roberts led Clay County with 22 points including four three point baskets, 11 rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Courtney Woods added 11 points and eight rebounds.  Ajaycia Cotton recorded 11 points and five assists.  Kaylee Mathis chipped in with nine points, five rebounds, and three assists.

Shelby Valley led 29-24 at halftime but Casey County rallied in the second half behind 57.9% field goal shooting to capture a 61-48 victory.  There were three lead changes and three ties in this game.  Casey County shot 48.8% from the field including two of eight from the three point line.  The Rebels connected on 19 of 28 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 10 Shelby Valley turnovers.  Shelby Valley shot 42.6% from the field including six of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Wildcats connected on two of seven free throws, pulled down 14 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 13 Casey County turnovers.

 

Colin Miller led Casey County with 16 points and four rebounds.  Jacob Smith added 12 points, four rebounds, and four assists.  6-5 Jr. DJ White recorded 11 points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Breece Hayes chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds.

 

Dalton Richardson led Shelby Valley with 19 points including four three point baskets.  6-2 Jr. Hunter Swindall added 10 points.

Peyton Woods led Wayne County with 24 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and three assists.  Trey Blevins added 19 points including three three point baskets and four assists.  Corey Stearns recorded 15 points and six rebounds.  Nick Gillespie chipped in with eight points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Elizabethtown defeated Shelby Valley by a score of 56-28.  The E-town defense stepped up tonight as they converted 22 Shelby Valley turnovers into 33 points, recorded 12 steals, and blocked seven shots.  Elizabethtown shot 39.7% from the field including eight of 21 from the three point line.  The Panthers connected on two of eight free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 33 points off 22 Shelby Valley turnovers.  Shelby Valley shot 24.4% from the field including two of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Wildcats connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored four points off 16 Elizabethtown turnovers.

 

Guy Williams led Elizabethtown with 20 points, 13 rebounds, five blocked shots, and six steals.  Zach Patterson added 12 points and 10 rebounds.  Tristan Johnson recorded nine points on three three point baskets, five rebounds, and four steals.  6-0 Sr. Austin Freyberger chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets.

Chelsey Ford led Woodford County with 22 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.  Anastayzia Reed added 22 points including four three point baskets and nine rebounds.  Caitlin Ferguson recorded 20 points including eight of nine free throws.  Maggie Hudson pulled down seven rebounds.

 

Juliette Smith led Scott County with 15 points including three three point baskets.  Lauren Boehm added 14 points and six rebounds despite being limited to only 16:43 minutes before fouling out.  Peyton Riddle recorded 13 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  5-3 7th Grade Morgan DeFoor chipped in with 10 points.

Ajaycia Cotton led Clay County with 29 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Cotton was nine of 13 from the field including one of two from beyond the arc, and 10 of 11 free throws.  Kelli Roberts added 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Courtney Woods recorded 12 points and seven rebounds.

Scott County led 35-22 at halftime and withstood a third quarter rally by Lafayette to earn a 68-64 victory.  There were eight ties and eight lead changes in the game.  Scott County shot 39.7% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 17 of 22 free throws, pulled down 17 of 22 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 18 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 40.4% from the field including seven of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on 15 of 20 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 12 Scott County turnovers.

 

Hines Jones led Scott County with 19 points including two three point baskets.  Isaiah Johnson added 14 points, five rebounds, and six blocked shots.  Clarien Washington recorded 14 points, six rebounds, and seven assists.  Jamel Banks chipped in with nine points.  5-10 Fr. Cooper Robb added nine points and five rebounds.

 

5-9 Jr. TJ Downey led Lafayette with 23 points including four three point baskets.  Harrison Lane added 10 points.  Ross Jenkins recorded nine points, 15 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Jajuante Carpenter chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.  William Watkins added seven points and six rebounds.

Franklin County coach Tony Wise started the following lineup: 6-3 Jr. DeMarcus Kennedy, 6-3 Sr. Michael Clark, 6-5 Sr. Cooper Giles, 5-7 8th Grade Diablo Stewart, and 6-2 Sr. Ryan Schneider.  Shelby Valley coach Jim Hicks countered with 6-0 Sr. Dalton Richardson, 5-10 Sr. Cory Hamilton, 6-5 Sr. Andrew Newsome, 5-10 Sr. Michael Fields, and 6-2 Jr. Hunter Swindall

 

Shelby Valley defeated Franklin County 57-52 in overtime.  Franklin County led 38-23 in the third quarter but Shelby Valley rallied for the victory.  Shelby Valley shot 43.6% from the field including four of 13 from the three point line.  The Wildcats connected on 19 of 28 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 19 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 41.5% from the field including zero of nine from beyond the arc.  The Flyers connected on 18 of 32 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 14 Shelby Valley turnovers.

 

Hunter Swindall led Shelby Valley with 19 points and five rebounds.  Dalton Richardson added 13 points including three three point baskets.  Andrew Newsome recorded 11 points and eight rebounds.  Cory Hamilton chipped in with eight points and four rebounds.  Michael Fields added six points and five assists.

 

Ryan Schneider led Franklin County with 16 points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals.  Michael Clark added 14 points and nine rebounds.  DeMarcus Kennedy chipped in with 10 points.

Peyton Rose.  (Woodford County was without Caitlin Ferguson today).  Boone County coach Nell Fookes countered with 5-6 Sr. Sadie Moore, 5-6 Sr. Macey Ford, 5-7 Sr. Alexis Switzer, 5-5 Sr. Maddie McGarr, and 5-5 Jr. Sydney Foster.  

 

Woodford County led 38-36 after three quarters but Boone County rallied for a 53-49 victory.  The score was tied three times and there were five lead changes in the game.  Boone County shot 39.2% from the field including three of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Rebels connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 15 Woodford County turnovers.  Woodford County shot 40% from the field including four of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Yellow Jackets connected on 17 of 23 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored six points off 10 Boone County turnovers.

 

Macey Ford led Boone County with 15 points including three three point baskets, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Alexis Switzer added 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists.  Sadie Moore recorded nine points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

 

Chelsey Ford led Woodford County with 22 points including 11 of 14 free throws and two blocked shots.  Anastayzia Reed added 17 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds.

Lafayette outscored Casey County 55-28 in the second half on their way to an 86-53 victory.  Lafayette shot 51.7% from the field including 10 of 16 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 16 of 20 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 14 Casey County turnovers.  Casey County shot 31.3% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Rebels connected on 19 of 24 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored eight points off 10 Lafayette turnovers.

 

5-9 Jr. TJ Downey led Lafayette with 19 points.  Harrison Lane added 15 points on five three point baskets.  Ross Jenkins recorded 14 points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Jajuante Carpenter chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets.  6-0 So. Cameron Greenup added eight points and six rebounds.  William Watkins pulled down nine rebounds.

 

Jacob Smith led Casey County with 11 points and five assists.  Colin Miller added 11 points including two three point baskets.  Jordan Brown recorded nine points and nine rebounds.  6-5 Jr. DJ White chipped in with seven points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Scott County defeated Clay County by a score of 75-70.  The score was tied three times and there were four lead changes in this game.  Scott County shot 42.6% from the field including three of 18 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 26 of 33 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 12 points off nine Clay County turnovers.  Clay County shot 54.3% from the field including six of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Tigers connected on 14 of 23 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 11 Scott County turnovers.

 

Peyton Riddle led Scott County with 16 points including 12 of 14 free throws, three rebounds, and five assists.  Sidney Southerland added 15 points and eight rebounds.  Southerland was seven of eight from the field and one of two from the free throw line.  Lauren Boehm recorded 14 points and 12 rebounds.  Juliette Smith chipped in with 13 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.  5-4 So. Britney Ward added eight points.

Clarien Washington hits a runner in the lane with 1.5 seconds left in the game and adds a free throw to give Scott County a 71-69 victory over Wayne County.  Wayne County missed some key free throws down the stretch and Scott County held a commanding 23-11 advantage in second chance points.  Scott County led 50-37 in the third quarter but Wayne County rallied and actually held a 69-68 lead in the closing seconds before Washington’s heroics.

 

Scott County shot 42.3% from the field including six of 15 from the three point line.  Scott County attempted 22 more shots (71-49) from the field than Wayne County.  The Cardinals connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 13 Wayne County turnovers.  Wayne County shot 53.1% from the field including 11 of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on six of 16 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored nine points off eight Scott County turnovers.

 

Isaiah Johnson led Scott County with 23 points including two three point baskets, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Clarien Washington added 19 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Hines Jones recorded 13 points, five rebounds, and seven assists.  5-10 Fr. Cooper Robb chipped in with eight points.
