Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary vs. Wauseon Division II (Championship)

 

Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary coach Dru Joyce started the following lineup: 6-3 Jr. Jayon Graves, 6-2 So. Lunden McDay, 6-4 Sr. Justin Sampson, 5-9 So. Chris Painter, and 6-1 Sr. Jon Williams.  Wauseon coach Chad Burt countered with 6-4 Jr. Owen Newlove, 6-3 Jr. Brooks Gype, 6-9 Jr. Austin Rotroff, 6-0 Sr. Brendan Britsch, and 6-2 Sr. Carter Bzovi.

 

St. Vincent-St. Mary outscored Wauseon 14-4 in the second quarter on their way to a 45-30 victory.  St. Vincent-St. Mary shot 40.4% from the field including three of 13 from the three point line.  They attempted 19 more shots (47-38) from the field than Wauseon.  The Fighting Irish connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 23 Wauseon turnovers.  Wauseon shot 42.9% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on four of 13 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and did not score off seven St. Vincent-St. Mary turnovers.

 

Jayon Graves led St. Vincent-St. Mary with 25 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and seven steals.  Justin Sampson added six points, eight rebounds, and two steals.  Jon Williams chipped in with five points, two rebounds, and three assists.

 

Austin Rotroff led Wauseon with 18 points and nine rebounds.  Carter Bzovi added eight points and five rebounds.

Columbus Wellington vs. Cleveland Heights Lutheran East Division IV (Championship)

 

Columbus Wellington coach Artie Taylor started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Noah Berry, 6-3 Jr. Solomon Pierre-Louis, 6-9 Sr. Dustin Harder, 5-10 Jr. Guy Schmidt, and 6-0 So. Dallas Patrick.  Cleveland Heights Lutheran East coach Anthony Jones countered with 6-3 Travis Sanders, 6-3 Jr. Jordan Burge, 6-8 Sr. Justin Motley, 6-0 Sr. Maurico Tate, and 6-3 Jr. Keandre Graves.

 

Lutheran East defeated Wellington by a score of 43-38.  The score was tied five times and there were five lead changes in the game.  Lutheran East shot 34% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Falcons connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 26 Wellington turnovers.  Wellington shot 34.1% from the field including one of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on nine of 18 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored five points off 16 Lutheran East turnovers.

 

Jordan Burge led Lutheran East with 13 points, four rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Travis Sanders and 6-0 Sr. Tyler Powell each scored eight points.  Maurico Tate recorded six points and eight rebounds.

 

Dustin Harder led Wellington with 14 points and 11 rebounds.  Noah Berry added seven points and nine rebounds.  Solomon Pierre-Louis recorded seven points and seven rebounds.

Roger Bacon coach Brian Neal started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Nick Pfriem, 6-4 So. Alec Pfriem, 6-6 Sr. James Johnson, 5-10 Jr. Brandon Bibbs, and 6-0 Sr. Craig McGee Jr.   Villa Angela-St. Joseph coach Babe Kwasniak countered with 6-4 Sr. Daniel McGarry, 6-2 Sr. Noah Newton, 6-8 So. Alonzo Gaffney, 5-8 Jr. Jerry Higgins, and 5-10 Sr. Andre George.

 

Villa Angela-St. Joseph held on down the stretch to defeat Roger Bacon by a score of 54-52.  The score was tied three times and there were eight lead changes in the game.  VASJ shot 47.4% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Vikings connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 13 Roger Bacon turnovers.  Roger Bacon shot 43.5% from the field including three of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Spartans connected on nine of 16 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 15 VASJ turnovers.

 

Jerry Higgins led VASJ with 16 points including eight of nine free throws and seven rebounds.  Alonzo Gaffney added 12 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  6-1 Sr. William Butler recorded 10 points including two three point baskets. 

 

6-5 Sr. Justin Johnson led Roger Bacon with 14 points.  James Johnson added 13 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Alec Pfriem recorded 12 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Craig McGee Jr. chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, and three assists.

Miles McBride.

 

Kyle Young hit one of two free throws with 2.8 seconds remaining on the clock to give Massillon Jackson a 39-38 victory over Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller.  The score was tied seven times and there were five lead changes in the game.  Massillon Jackson shot 35.1% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line.  The Polar Bears connected on eight of 13 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored eight points off 10 Moeller turnovers.  Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller shot 35.1% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc.  The Crusaders connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored nine points off 12 Massillon Jackson turnovers.

 

Logan Hill led Massillon Jackson with 12 points and six rebounds.  Jaret Pallotta added 11 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.  Kyle Young recorded five points and 10 rebounds.

 

Miles McBride led Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller with 15 points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Keegan McDowell added 14 points including two three point baskets and eight rebounds.  6-5 Jr. Jeremiah Davenport chipped in with eight points including six of six free throws, four rebounds, and two blocked shots.
