Walton-Verona coach Grant Brannen started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Kam Pardee, 6-2 Sr. Austin Lay, 6-6 Sr. Zach Clinkenbeard, 5-6 Sr. Brennan Stanley, and 5-11 Jr. Grant Grubbs.  Ballard coach Chris Renner countered with 6-2 Sr. Marshon Ford, 6-2 Sr. Dorion Tisby, 6-2 Sr. Delonta Wimberly, 5-9 Sr. Tyrese Duncan, and 5-9 Sr. Tyron Duncan.

 

Ballard scored 34 points off 24 Walton-Verona turnovers in a 75-62 victory.  Ballard shot 49.2% from the field including eight of 20 from the three point line.  The Bruins connected on three of seven free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and held a 40-24 advantage in points scored in the paint.  Walton-Verona shot 44.2% from the field including eight of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Bearcats connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 18 Ballard turnovers.

 

Marshon Ford led Ballard with 14 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and three assists.  Delonta Wimberly added 11 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.  Dorion Tisby recorded 11 points, four rebounds, and three steals.  6-4 Jr. Alexander Holley chipped in with 12 points including two three point baskets.  Tyron Duncan added nine points, six assists, and four steals.

 

Kam Pardee led Walton-Verona with 13 points and five rebounds.  Brennan Stanley added 12 points including two three point baskets and six assists.  Zach Clinkenbeard recorded 11 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  5-10 Jr. Garrett Jones chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.

Fairdale defeated Bowling Green by a score of 89-77.  There were three ties and three lead changes in the game.  Fairdale shot 52.9% from the field including eight of 24 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on nine of 17 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 16 Bowling Green turnovers.  Bowling Green shot 57.4% from the field including six of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Purples connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Fairdale turnovers.

 

Craig Ash led Fairdale with 32 points and 11 rebounds.  Ash was 15 of 18 from the field and two of four free throws.  Markelo Sullivan added 23 points including four three point baskets, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Mark Sullivan recorded 15 points including four three point baskets and four assists.  Glenn Queen chipped in with 13 points and four assists.

 

Jarius Key led Bowling Green with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals.  Eli Thurman added 16 points including four three point baskets.  5-10 Sr. Ziyon Kenner recorded 14 points.  6-2 Jr. Davion Dice chipped in with 10 points.

Trinity dominated play tonight in a 90-54 victory over Anderson County.  Trinity shot 61.3% from the field including nine of 16 from the three point line.  The Shamrocks connected on five of six free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Anderson County turnovers.  Anderson County shot 34.7% from the field including eight of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Bearcats connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored six points off 11 Trinity turnovers.

 

David Johnson led Trinity with 21 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and four assists.  Justin Powell added 15 points including three three point baskets.  Jay Scrubb recorded 13 points and four rebounds.  6-0 Fr. Ethan Hodge also scored 13 points.  Jamil Hardaway added 12 points and five rebounds.

Adam Kunkel led Cooper with 21 points including three three point baskets and five rebounds.  Braydon Runion added  20 points, five rebounds, and three steals.  Chris McNeil recorded 12 points, four assists, and three steals.

West Linn (OR) coach Tyler Toney started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Max Michelon, 6-3 Sr. Jalen Thompson, 6-7 Sr. Keishon Dawkins, 6-0 Jr. Drayton Caolie, and 6-3 So. Micah Garrett.  Palmetto (FL) coach Marcos Molina countered with 6-5 Jr. Alex Rodriguez, 6-0 Jr. Jovan Debrito, 6-6 Jr. Joey Martinez, 5-11 Sr. Danilo Castellano, and 5-11 Sr. Mikal Starks.

 

Drayton Caolie hit a layup with eight seconds left on the clock to give, West Linn (OR) a 71-69 lead over Palmetto (FL)  and Joey Martinez missed a three point attempt for a Palmetto win to ensure the victory.  There were 14 lead changes and eight ties in the game.  West Linn held a 17-5 lead in the first quarter but Palmetto battled back to a 69-69 tie before Caolie’s late heroics.

 

West Linn (OR) shot 47.2% from the field including eight of 18 from the three point line.  The Lions connected on 13 of 20 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored eight points off seven Palmetto turnovers.  Palmetto (FL) shot 45.8% from the field including six of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Panthers connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored two points off six West Linn turnovers.

 

Keishon Dawkins led West Linn (OR) with 26 points including three three point baskets and nine rebounds.  Micah Garrett added 19 points.  Jalen Thompson recorded 14 points including three three point baskets.  Drayton Caolie hit the game winner and also dished out seven assists.

 

Joey Martinez led Palmetto (FL) with 21 points and nine rebounds.  Mikal Starks added 20 points and six rebounds.  Alex Rodriguez recorded 17 points and eight rebounds.

Austin Hall led LCA with 17 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Carter Hendricksen added 16 points, 12 rebounds, and two steals.  Zeke Grier recorded 12 points including two three point baskets.  Pearce Dalton chipped in with 10 points, four assists, and three steals.

Anderson County vs. Mercer County

 

Mercer County eked out a 63-62 victory over Anderson County.  This game had a bizarre ending as Anderson County trailed by four points with five second remaining on the clock when 6-1 Sr. Dylan Pittman hit a three point basket to pull Anderson County within one; 63-62 with just under five seconds remaining on the clock.  An Anderson County player appeared to step out of bounds and slap Faulkner on the arm in an effort to stop the clock and force Mercer County’s 6-4 Sr. Trevon Faulkner to relinquish the ball which resulted in a shoving contest and the clock expired.  The referees appeared to call a double technical foul but no free throws were shot and the game declared to be over.

 

5-11 So. Kaelin Drakeford led Mercer County with 15 points.. 5-8 Jr. Carter Baughman added 13 points.  Trevon Faulkner recorded 12 points.

 

6-1 Sr. Dylan Pittman led Anderson County with 23 points including four three point baskets.  5-10 Sr. Cobe Penny added 15 points and Fr. Jagger Gillis recorded 12 points.

Trinity outscored Cooper 17-8 in the second quarter on their way to a 73-61 victory.  There were eight lead changes and three ties in the game.  Trinity shot 59.5% from the field including 19 of 29 (65.5%) from the three point line.  The Shamrocks connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 12 points off five Cooper turnovers.  Cooper shot 46.7% from the field including 11 of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored eight points off seven Trinity turnovers.

 

Jay Scrubb led Trinity with 32 points including nine three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Scrubb was 11 of 16 from the field including nine of 12 from beyond the arc and one of two free throws.  Justin Powell added 15 points including three three point baskets.  David Johnson recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and seven assists.

Clint Wickliffe led Fern Creek with 21 points and seven rebounds.  Ahmad Price added 19 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Anthony Wales recorded 17 points and four assists.

Stephen Moore hit a three point basket to give Fairdale a lead they would not relinquish again.   6-4 Sr. Craig Ash led Fairdale with 18 points.  6-2 Sr. Markelo Sullivan added 16 points including two three point baskets.  5-9 Sr. Glenn Queen chipped in with 11 points.

Walton-Verona raced out to a 23-8 lead in the first half on their way to a 62-55 victory over Mercer County.  Walton-Verona shot 56.8% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line.  The Bearcats connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 Mercer County turnovers.  Mercer County shot 34.8% from the field including one of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Titans connected on 22 of 29 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 12 Walton-Verona turnovers.

 

Zach Clinkenbeard led Walton-Verona with 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Brennan Stanley added 11 points, four assists, and three steals.  Kam Pardee recorded 10 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.  Austin Lay also scored 10 points.  6-10 Jr. Dieonte Miles added seven points, three rebounds, and four blocked shots.

6-4 Jr. Alexander Holley led Ballard with 22 points and four rebounds.  Tyron Duncan added 20 points including 10 of 10 free throws, seven assists, and three steals.  Marshon Ford recorded 18 points and four rebounds.  Dorion Tisby chipped in with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals.  6-1 Sr. Kereion Douglas added 13 points and five steals.
