Bullitt East vs. Rushville (IN) (Boys)

 

Bullitt East Coach Jason Couch started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Logan Hudson, 6-0 Sr. Sean Johnson, 6-5 Jr. Rece Watson, 5-10 Sr. Luke Ezell, and 5-11 So. Zak Perdew.  Rushville (IN) coach Steve Goddard countered with 6-2 So. Eric Brown, 6-1 Jr. Cameron Craig, 6-4 Jr. Duncan Draper, 5-11 Jr. Mason Springman, and 6-0 Sr. Austyne Farley.

 

Bullitt East led 39-24 early in the third quarter Rushville finished the quarter on a 20-10 run to pull within five points; 49-44 at the end of the third quarter.  Bullitt East rallied in the3 final quarter to pull away for a 65-51 victory.  Bullitt East shot 43.6% from the field including seven of 21 from the three point line.  The Chargers connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 21 Rushville turnovers.  Rushville (IN) shot 45.2% from the field including five of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lions connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 11 Bullitt East turnovers.

 

Luke Ezell led Bullitt East with 22 points including four three point baskets, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Rece Watson added 14 points, four rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Sean Johnson recorded 11 points, four rebounds, and three steals.

 

Austyne Farley led Rushville (IN) with 22 points including four three point baskets, six rebounds, and five assists.  Mason Springman added nine points.  6-7 Jr. Jacob Ray recorded seven points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Oldenburg Academy (IN) coach Gary Moorman started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Owen Sporleder, 6-2 Jr. Eli Sporleder, 6-3 Sr. Nate Folop, 5-9 Jr. Kris Hetzer, and 5-11 Fr. Andrew Oesterling.  Oldham County coach Coy Zerhusen countered with 6-4 Jr. Christian Harper, 6-1 Jr. Matthew Teague, 6-4 Sr. Travis Henderson, 5-9 Sr. Andrew Brewer, and 5-9 Sr. Jackson Gibson.

 

Oldham County raced out to a 17-2 first quarter lead on their way to a 70-38 victory over Oldenburg Academy (IN).  Oldham County shot 48.3% from the field including six of 23 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 12 Oldenburg Academy turnovers.  Oldenburg Academy shot 30.8% from the field including five of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Twisters connected on one of two free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored five points off 11 Oldham County turnovers.

 

Travis Henderson led Oldham County with 14 points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Jackson Gibson added 12 points and 6-2 Sr. Zach Larimore recorded 10 points and 15 rebounds.

 

Andrew Oesterling led Oldenburg Academy with nine points.  Kris Hetzer added seven points.

Jeffersonville (IN) coach Michael Warren started the following lineup: 6-0 So. Nan Garcia, 5-7 Jr. Tori Handley, 6-3 Sr. Britney Epperson, 5-0 So. Kelsie James, and 5-5 Jr. Jasmine Lilly.  Mercer County coach Chris Souder countered with 5-10 Sr. Emma Davis, 5-10 Sr. Faith Lake, 6-2 Sr. Emmy Souder, 5-8 Sr. Lexy Lake, and 5-9 Sr. Seygan Robbins.

 

The score was tied 31-31 at halftime but Mercer County captured a close 60-53 decision over Jeffersonville (IN).  The score was tied five times and there were four lead changes in the game.  Mercer County shot 35.8% from the field including seven of 27 from the three point line.  The Lady Titans connected on 15 of 20 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored eight points off 17 Jeffersonville (IN) turnovers.  Jeffersonville (IN) shot 43.2% from the field including six of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Red Devils connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 10 Mercer County turnovers.

 

Emmy Souder led Mercer County with 22 points including two three point baskets, eight of 10 free throws and nine rebounds.  Seygan Robbins added 11 points including two three point baskets and five assists.  5-6 Jr. Toni McCombs chipped in with 10 points.

 

Tori Handley led Jeffersonville (IN) with 15 points including three three point baskets.  Nan Garcia added 11 points and eight rebounds.  Jasmine Lilly recorded 10 points, five rebounds, and five assists.  Britney Epperson added nine points and four rebounds.

Covington Catholic defeated 69-53 by a score of Oak Hill (IN).  Covington Catholic shot 50% from the field including seven of 18 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on eight of 15 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Oak Hill (IN) turnovers.  Oak Hill (IN) shot 46.3% from the field including four of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Golden Eagles connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Covington Catholic turnovers.

 

CJ Fredrick led Covington Catholic with 27 points including three three point baskets and four assists.  Nick Thelen added 13 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.  Michael Mayer recorded nine points and eight rebounds.  Aiden Ruthsatz chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

 

6-8 Sr. Caleb Middlesworth led Oak Hill (IN) with 16 points including eight of nine free throws and five rebounds.  Tyce Frank and Tahj Johnson each scored 10 points.

Scott County led 77-45 late in the third quarter on their way to an 89-77 victory over Evansville Bosse (IN).  Bosse outscored Scott County 30-12 in the final quarter to close the final victory margin.  Scott County shot 51.6% from the field including nine of 19 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 16 of 23 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 22 Bosse turnovers.  Bosse shot 42.2% from the field including eight of 29 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 17 Scott County turnovers.

 

Bryce Long led Scott County with 26 points including two three point baskets and three steals.  Michael Moreno added 22 points including two three point baskets and 11 rebounds.  Cooper Robb recorded 18 points including seven of eight free throws, seven rebounds, six assists, and six steals. 

 

Mekhi Lairy led Bosse with 18 points including two three point baskets and six rebounds.  Deangelo Ware added 18 points including three three point baskets.  6-2 Sr. Jaylen Minor recorded 12 points.  Jayven Layne chipped in with eight points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Kiyron Powell added seven points and six rebounds.
