Male coach Champ Ligon countered with 6-0 Jr. Joelle Johnson, 5-8 Fr. Alana Striverson, 6-1 Jr. Cameron Browning, 5-6 Sr. Ciaja Harbison, and 5-6 Sr. Emilia Sexton.
Riverdale (TN) outscored Male 19-9 in the final quarter to pull away for a 74-63 victory. There were 10 lead changes and five ties in this game. Riverdale (TN) shot 50.9% from the field including six of 17 from the three point line. The Lady Warriors connected on 12 of 24 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 25 Male turnovers. Male shot 48.1% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc. The Lady Bulldogs connected on seven of eight free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Riverdale (TN) turnovers.
Brinae Alexander led Riverdale (TN) with 20 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Alasia Hayes added 20 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Aislynn Hayes recorded 15 points, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Alexis Whittington chipped in with 12 points including two three point baskets and six rebounds.
Ciaja Harbison led Male with 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Emilia Sexton added 14 points including four three point baskets. Cameron Browning recorded 12 points and 12 rebounds. Joelle Johnson pulled down eight rebounds.

This is clearly one of the best girls’ invitational events in the country and Mercy Academy coach Keith Baisch, the sponsors, and volunteers do an excellent job of pulling this event together despite often having to juggle schedules because of dicey weather during this time.
