Monday February 18th

 

Lexington Christian Academy vs. Tates Creek (Girls)

 

Lexington Christian Academy coach Haley Lee started the following lineup: 5-9 So. Gracie Royalty, 5-9 Sr. Grace Combs, 5-9 Jr. Mackenzie Buckler, 5-6 Fr. Sophia Gabbert, and 5-7 Sr. Brooke Allison.  Tates creek coach Matt Yates countered with 5-8 Fr. Caty Amishaw, 5-7 Jr. Lateya Wilson, 5-8 Jr. Yasmeen Shalash, 5-2 Fr. Alisce Lyvers, and 5-2 Sr. Kiara Jackson.

 

Lexington Christian Academy defeated Tates Creek by a score of 39-31.  This was a game of runs as LCA raced out to a 20-6 lead in the second quarter Tates Creek cut the deficit to one point; 26-25 at the end of three quarters.  LCA pulled away in the final quarter to earn the victory.  There were two lead changes in the game. 

 

Lexington Christian Academy shot 27% from the field including zero of six from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on 19 of 25 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 16 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 21.8% from the field including four of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Commodores connected on three of 12 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 25 LCA turnovers. 

 

Gracie Royalty led Lexington Christian Academy with 18 points including eight of nine free throws, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Grace Combs added 14 points including 10 of 12 free throws, 13 rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and five steals.

 

Lateya Wilson led Tates Creek with eight points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three assists.  Kiara Jackson added seven points and four steals.  5-8 Fr. Joyce Mukalamusi recorded six points and six rebounds.  Caty Amishaw chipped in with five points and five rebounds.

Tates Creek coach Jarrod Gay Sr. started the following lineup: 6-4 So. Josh DuToit, 6-2 Jr. Amari Taylor, 6-5 Sr. Deonte Edmonds, 5-10 Jr. Clon Townsend, and 5-10 Sr. Mekhi Webb.  Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Scott Chalk countered with 6-7 Sr. Trevor Rogers, 6-3 Sr. Michael Corio, 6-8 Jr. Rabby Kamona, 6-1 Sr. Grayson Shively, and 6-2 Sr. Jared Gadd.

 

Paul Laurence Dunbar defeated Tates Creek by a score of 63-48.  Dunbar shot 51.1% from the field including four of 14 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on 11 of 17 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored eight points off 10 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 36.2% from the field including five of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Commodores connected on nine of 16 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 14 Dunbar turnovers.

 

6-4 Fr. Tim Hall led Dunbar with 19 points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Hall was eight of 10 from the field and three of five from the free throw line.  Jared Gadd added 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists.  Trevor Rogers recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.

 

6-3 Sr. Jaheim Mullins led Tates Creek with 15 points.  Mekhi Webb added nine points, three rebounds, and five assists.  Amari Taylor also scored nine points.

Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Lindi DeBilzan, 5-11 Fr. Anaya Brown, 6-0 Sr. Macey Goff, 5-7 Fr. Olivia Cathers, and 5-7 Fr. Lauren Walton.  Lexington Catholic coach Scott True countered with 5-9 Fr. Chloe Treece, 5-8 Sr. Jay Ballard, 5-8 Sr. Maylo Given, 5-5 Sr. Morgan Rakes, and 5-7 So. Farah Weldon.

 

Lexington Catholic defeated Lafayette by a score of 51-49.  The score was tied nine times and there were 11 lead changes in the game.  Lexington Catholic shot 32.4% from the field including five of 14 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 22 of 29 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 32.7% from the field including two of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 20 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Jay Ballard led Lexington Catholic with 13 points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Chloe Treece added 11 points including seven of seven free throws and five rebounds.  Morgan Rakes recorded eight points on eight of 10 free throws.  Maylo Given added seven points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.

 

Macey Goff led Lafayette with 20 points including six of eight free throws, four rebounds, two assists, and six steals.  Lindi DeBilzan added 14 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Lauren Walton recorded five points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Lexington Christian Academy defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 46-41.  The score was tied three times and there were four lead changes in the game.  LCA shot 35.9% from the field including 10 of 33 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 12 points off nine Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 31% from the field including seven of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on eight of nine free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored three points off seven LCA turnovers.

 

Will Hacker led Lexington Christian Academy with 18 points including five three point baskets.  Kyle Rode added 12 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.

 

Brice Scott led Lexington Catholic with 12 points and nine rebounds.  Ben Johnson added 11 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals.  Patrick Geoghegan recorded 10 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three assists.

Paul Laurence Dunbar raced out to a 23-5 first quarter lead on their way to a 63-38 victory over Lexington Christian Academy.  Dunbar shot 33.3% from the field including four of 16 from the three point line.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 15 of 23 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 22 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 36.1% from the field including three of eight from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and did not score off seven Dunbar turnovers.

 

Elise Ellison-Coons led Dunbar with 18 points including eight of 10 free throws, nine rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Tanaya Cecil added 13 points including three three point baskets.  Cheyenne Fullwood recorded 13 points, three rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Jailyn Ginter chipped in with eight points and four rebounds.  Haley Gadd added five points, seven rebounds, and three assists.  5-8 Fr. Aziah Campbell recorded four points, nine rebounds, and three assists.

 

Grace Combs led Lexington Christian Academy with 15 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots.  Gracie Royalty added six points and nine rebounds.

Paul Laurence Dunbar defeated Lafayette by a score of 69-51.  Dunbar shot 41.7% from the field including 10 of 28 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on nine of 17 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 17 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 35.3% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 12 Dunbar turnovers.

 

Jared Gadd led Dunbar with 28 points including six three point baskets, five rebounds, six assists, and six steals.  6-0 Fr. Max VanDyke added 13 points including three three point baskets.  6-4 Fr. Tim Hall recorded 11 points, seven rebounds, four blocked shots, and four steals.

 

Ray Surratt led Lafayette with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Javen Hardin added 14 points including two three point baskets, and four assists.  Evan Dreux recorded seven points, four rebounds, and four assists.

Lexington Christian Academy defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar by a score of 68-55.  The score was tied six times and there were five lead changes in the game.   The score was tied 37-37 at halftime but LCA pulled away in the second half for the victory.  Lexington Christian Academy shot 45.1% from the field including nine of 19 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Dunbar turnovers.  Paul Laurence Dunbar shot 42.3% from the field including six of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored one points off five LCA turnovers.

 

Kyle Rode led Lexington Christian Academy with 32 points including two three point baskets, 10 of 13 free throws, 13 rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  Baylor Brown added 14 points including two three point baskets and four assists.  Will Hacker recorded nine points on three three point baskets and four rebounds.

 

Jared Gadd led Paul Laurence Dunbar with 25 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and three assists.  Grayson Shively added nine points on three three point baskets.  6-4 Fr.
