Providence Christian (23-9) vs. Webb School (27-2) Division II Class A (Girls)

 

Providence Christian coach Tara James started the following lineup: 5-9 So. Mia Alexander, 5-9 So. Abby McFarland, 5-10 Sr. Annacaite Markham, 5-6 Sr. Alia Callum, and 5-8 Sr. Mariah Edmonds.  Webb School coach Matthew Shewmake countered with 5-10 Fr. Ava Butts, 5-10 Fr. Brookelyn Pedigo, 6-2 Sr. Shanice Simpson-Wheatley, 5-7 Sr. Lashae Dwyer, and 5-8 Sr. Lauren Vann.

 

Webb School captured the championship with a 54-38 victory over Providence Christian.  Webb School shot 40.9% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line.  The Lady Feet connected on 12 of 20 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and committed 13 turnovers.  Providence Christian shot 25.6% from the field including six of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Lions connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and committed 14 turnovers.

 

Lashae Dwyer led Webb School with 23 points including two three point baskets, five of seven free throws, 12 rebounds, six assists, and five steals.  Shanice Simpson-Wheatley added eight points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Lauren Vann recorded seven points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, six assists, and two steals. 

 

Annacaite Markham led Providence Christian with 14 points including two three point baskets, six of eight free throws, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  Mariah Edmonds added nine points on three three point baskets.  Mia Alexander recorded eight points and seven rebounds.  Abby McFarland chipped in with five points, four rebounds, and three assists.

Christ Presbyterian Academy (30-4) vs. Goodpasture (30-1) Division II Class A (Boys)

 

CPA coach Drew Maddux started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Jake Dykstra, 6-0 Sr. Jordan Dewalt, 6-8 Jr. Braeden Moore, 5-10 Sr. Braden Zapp, and 6-0 Jr. Evan Shiflet.  Goodpasture coach Adam Sonn countered with 6-3 So. Isaiah West, 6-1 Jr. Chandler Woosley, 6-5 So. Jack Carter, 6-0 Sr. Patrick Smith, and 6-0 Sr. Cooper Pennington.

 

Goodpasture trailed 40-39 after three quarters but outscored CPA 21-10 in the final quarter to earn a 60-50 victory.  Goodpasture shot 42.6% from the field (7-9 4th quarter) including six of 17 from the three point line.  The Cougars connected on eight of 13 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and committed two turnovers.  CPA shot 48.6% from the field including two of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lions connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and committed nine turnovers.

 

Isaiah West led Goodpasture with 19 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, and four assists.  Patrick Smith added 10 points, seven rebounds, 11 assists, and three steals.  Cooper Pennington recorded nine points including two three point baskets.  Jack Carter chipped in with nine points and five rebounds.

 

Braden Zapp led CPA with 18 points including six of eight free throws, two rebounds, and two assists.  Evan Shiflet added 14 points including six of seven free throws.  Braeden Moore recorded five points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots.

Knoxville Catholic (15-16) vs. Hutchison (21-2) Division II Class AA (Girls)

 

Knoxville Catholic coach Travis Mains started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Jazmine Williams, 5-10 Fr. Sydney Mains, 6-0 Jr. Ella Renfree, 5-3 Fr. Sharon Wilson, and 5-8 Sr. Jeila Greenlee.  Hutchison coach Thomas Jones countered with 6-1 Sr. Maxine Engel, 6-0 Sr. Kaia Barnett, 6-3 Sr. Carmyn Harrison, 5-11 So. Berklee Scifres, and 6-0 Sr. Maddie Prather.

 

Hutchison outrebounded Knoxville Catholic 40-24 in a 41-34 victory.  Hutchison shot 31.8% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line.  The Lady Sting connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and committed 18 turnovers.  Knoxville Catholic shot 32.6% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Fighting Irish connected on one of two free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and committed 15 turnovers.

 

Kaia Barnett led Hutchison with 14 points including six of nine free throws, 11 rebounds, and two assists.  Maddie Prather added 10 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Berklee Scifres recorded nine points on three three point baskets.  Carmyn Harrison added four points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and four steals.  Maxine Engel added four points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

 

Jeila Greenlee led Knoxville Catholic with 11 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds.  Sydney Mains added nine points, four rebounds, three blocked shots, and five steals.  Jazmine Williams recorded eight points, two rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  Ella Renfree blocked five shots.

Brentwood Academy (20-3) vs. Montgomery Bell Academy ((15-2) Division II Class AA (Boys)

 

Brentwwod Academy coach Matt Hoppe started the following lineup: 6-3 Jr. DJ Senter, 6-4 Sr. Caleb Brooks, 6-4 Jr. Trent McNair, 5-11 Fr. Tyler Tanner, and 6-1 So. Drey Moss.  Montgomery Bell Academy coach Kevin Anglin countered with 6-4 Sr. Will Montana, 6-2 Jr. Jackson Francis, 6-6 Jr. Grayson Morgan, 5-11 Sr. Miles Versa, and 6-2 So. Marcel Reed.

 

Montgomery Bell Academy defeated Brentwood Academy by the score of 72-51.  MBA shot 47.25 from the field including eight of 19 from the three point line.  The Big Red connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and committed 11 turnovers.  Brentwood Academy shot 36.2% from the field including one of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 16 of 23 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and committed 13 turnovers.

 

Will Montana led MBA with 25 points including five three point baskets, five rebounds, and three assists.  Jackson Francis added 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  6-4 So. Joshua Roberts recorded 10 points including seven of 10 free throws, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  Miles Versa chipped in with 10 points and four rebounds.

 

Trent McNair led Brentwood Academy with 17 points including six of eight free throws, five rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.  6-7 Sr. Eli Sutton added 12 points including four of four free throws, and three rebounds.  Drey Moss recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and three steals.
